Im such an idiot. money advice needed

Own up to your parents and hope they are willing to loan you £1300 to pay Wonga back, before it gets a lot worse. You can't just ignore the deadline and pay it back monthly...

don't pay wonga

all they gonna do is harass you for a few months by phone and letter then pay it back once ur sorted, or go bankrupt/debt relief order.

remember the worst they can do is send someone round who you can tell to do one, then if they get a CCJ pay it back at a rate you can afford, your about 12months from that though.

Bankruptcy for £1300 at 20 is the most stupid advice he can get.

Live like a hermit for 3 months and have done. :)

I suggest you close your betting accounts straight away tbh that way you don't get any further into debt, you should be only betting money that you can afford to lose.

You will end up a bum living on the streets the way you're going.

So let me get this straight his mum paid off his overdraft in a previous thread and now he spunked it all on gambling. Some son you must be.

Rent = £240
Food = £60
Phone = £45
Gym = £35 (I am going to cancel next month)
Hair = £16

Any sensible advice would be appreciated

I assume you live with your parents, if you do then ask for a break on the rent or atleast lower it if they're willing to be helpful. See if they'll let you owe them the rent seeing as it's better to owe your parents imo.

That contract is insanely high, I have a £30 contract and I've never used all my allowance. If you use all yours and it's not for work then just stop.

Your hair has an allowance? Go buy some trimmers from Argos, I did yesterday for £18 and cut my own hair whenever it needs doing.

Phone Wonga and see if they can help.

Sell your computer, oh and phone your phone company and change your contract that's a lot of money to be spending which you can't afford.

This.

Phone Wonga is surely the best thing to do though, see if you can work something out with them?

Get real, he's 20 years old and earns next to nothing, his parents could be 50+ with no mortgage and more than happy to help him out.

I never really got the gambling bug myself but I did have massive debts around the ages of 20 - 22, mostly through purchasing expensive electricals and running a car whilst not in work etc, I'd have a few grand available on a card and be tempted to buy things like Rolex watches or £200 pairs of designer jeans etc.

There have been plenty of examples on here of people getting into debt much older than the op too.

Ring some employment agencies for temp evening/weekend work?

I know borrowing more money to pay off debt is often looked down on but you could try asking you bank for an overdraft enough to pay wonga off. If you could get that and move the £1300 debt from wonga to you current account. Well, even that is going to make your situation seem much better.
