Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Went through all the trouble of unlocking the L85A2 (SA80) and I seem to suck horribly with it - can't seem to hit a barn door and when I do it seems to take twice as much to kill someone.

I seem to stomp people with the AEK-971 though, but I'm about to unlock the AN-94. Is that any good?
 
Over the last couple of weeks I have noticed that aimbots are being used more and more. It's just ruining the game for me now as I like to play early in the morning (I like to wake up early :p) when no admins are on :(

What is the best method for reporting cheaters ? should I go straight to punkbuster site and send off an email or go here http://getsatisfaction.com/battlefield3/topics/dice_please_ban_these_hackers
 
it's getting pretty bad and dice/ea are not doing anything about it. the best way to deal with it at the moment is to leave the server and find another one to join.

AN-94 is by far the worst assault rifle in the game imo.

High ROF controlled spray (AEK-971) beats aimed fire in 90% of situations.

I remember raging at your username a few times the other night, Kanifee :)

I've been running with a Support? guy recently:

UMP45 + RDS + Suppressor;
M1911, to continue the .45 theme ;)
C4, for some hot man-on-vehicle action;
Repair tool;
squad sprint.


I've also tried some Assault with the AN-94, in an attempt to get a decent RDS for it, cos I've got a feeling it's a cracking battle rifle, but the iron sights are awful.

I have a feeling you're dead right, and the AEK is such a cool gun to blat about with, but I've never been one to do things the easy way... :D
 
The AN-94 has been fixed now, making its burst fire mode very good for mid-long ranges. It took me roughly the same time to unlock all unlocks as other rifles. I just had to change my game style to suit the rifle (Im just working through each gun to unlock everything)

I found it best to use a 4x acog on it opposed to Red dot/Kobra i use for all other rifles.

I prefer playing engineer or assault, they're more versatile. Support is easy mode when you have unlocked foregrips for the lmg's. Recon just doesnt feel the same as in bfbc2, but can still be quite fun to play in certain situations.
 
I just started playing Assault class last night, just how easy and quick is it using this class to level up!!

Also the AK-74 is deadly when shooting blind, I use it with iron sights and I find then deadly accurate as well even long range.

lol don't be such an eejit telling people not to use a certain weapon.

the only thing wrong with the famas is that is a high ROF and lots of people use it so people get butthurt about it.

There are plenty of guns about that are just as deadly as the famas for the assault class. Its what the assault class does best. Its not "overpowered" any more than any of the other good assault guns like the F2000, AEK and L85.

pfft, nobody is allowed to use a weapon that might do me damage, It's just not cricket!!!
 
900rpm the famas is

It chews through your ammo. If you want to go getting a K: D ratio of 6:1 or above in game, you'll need a handy support class following you around at all times :D
 
I am just shy of 15 service stars with the FAMAS. This morning I thought I'd have a go at the F2000 for the first time and bloody hell the gun is a beast. Slightly less ROF - 850 as opposed to the FAMAS' 900 - but hardly any spread and minor recoil. On a par with the FAMAS and with such little spread it's possibly more lethal.
