*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

I've been playing a lot for me over Xmas holidays and into New Year (its kept me off WoW) and I've got one character to 24 so far. And levelling for me compared to WoW seems a big slog. I think I'm on the 3rd planet so far and still havent done all the heroics.

And as above no offence but to have 2 lvl 50's already and be wanting new content in less than 1 month seems a bit crazy - I guess either you knew everything from beta or have lived on the game.

Got my sith warrior to 24 and just left na shaddaa. Just landed on a space station and got completely owned by the boss. Not sure whats up as i have not really had too much trouble dealing with anyone else before. In about 10 seconds my companion was down then me soon after.

I'm personally finding it far too quick to "level" in the game.
I have a character now at Level 50 and he has still got loads of missions/quests and content to do - all lost XP, with the exception of Legacy XP still raising.

Every corner the game just throws XP at you, I got one mission that involved me moving from one side of a space station to the other and gave me 15k XP.

In the "old days" of MMORPG's actually getting to the "top of the game" showed dedication and actually meant something.
No reason why you cannot get to Level 50 within 2-3 weeks - far too easy.

While taking ages to level isn't necessarily the best thing to have in a game I think in TOR it would make quite a lot of sense to have a ridiculously long path to maximum level. One week to Darth is a bit lame.

eh? which class sends you to the space station after narshad? i'm consular and went there after alderaan. maybe it isn't your "end of act 1" boss, my one sent me to a special station to fight a big boss thing but at about 32

edit- idiot i just quoted the fact you said sith warrior. well that i'm not sure about then i guess. when you select the station from your ship what level does it recommend you should be? or does it only do that for planets

I want an /exp off function - I'm leveling with somebody else who doesn't like PVP.

But each PVP match I do (while they are browsing the trade market or playing on an alt) keeps pushing me further & further ahead (which I dont want).

I would like to be able to get commendations but no exp - it's not like the grounds are split anyway which would open up the "twinking problem" - hell I'd prefer some L25 twinks over the L50's we have atm :)

Its the only thing i have on my map to do. Not sure if its just me being a noob but im not sure how to beat this guy,

After all the winging about servers being empty and not seeing anyone, the republic fleet now feels absolutely packed. Sorry for the WoW comparison, but like Ironforge, the auction kiosk and PvP terminal are constantly surrounded by players.

It generally feels way more populated!

Niman btw.

Havent noticed that myself, especially nowhere near the amount of players you see at IF. Was jumping instances whenever I tried to group yesterday for heroics. Maybe theyve left it at one instance on fleet but on-planet still looks very unpopulated to me. I would love this game to have just a single instance and expand the world size/mobs rather than using this mechanic.

I would add that comparison to WoW is fair. The opportunity was there to take what was best from WoW, learn from its popular aspects and build on those, which they havent done. Maybe this is because they have gone for a very different type of MMO. I am not going to sub but I will leave it 6 months and come back to it. things im hoping will be fixed:

- PvP bracketed.
- AH much more intuitive, open and with room for speculating. No specific search requirements beyond the basic categories and not eighteen of the same item in a 5 credit spread thanks to auto post.
- UI flexibility and addons.
- Remove instances!
- Name change - dont mind if its paid, I really hate my name!

That would have me subbing again. Enjoying the game at the moment, but for an hour a night with the occasional ding. Would rather sub to something else for now. As has been said before, really important they listen to the playerbase as these are all covered multiple times on the forums.

I left Na Shadda at 26 went to the station and did it with no problems. Maybe you need to be a level higher. I'm not just leaving planets once I reach their top level, I'm doing all the quests I can find.

Im wondering if this would be my cuppa...

I used to play Galaxies back in the day, before the NGE - got a little bored of the grind to be totally honest, but quite enjoyed the gameplay at times. Never touched WoW or any other MMO since

Well this game is not a grind at all, one of the easiest MMOs to level I've played in a while. The story is great if you're in to that. It's a pretty easy game imo.

By the way how to i get myself onto the overclock players list ??

I feel a little loney on Bxun Battle circle server atm:(

need more people to join me and my level 32 sith marauder with his now updated 45 keybindings..........god lord when will these new abilities stop, please for the love of my fingers stop!

I can actually say on my Mara after 6 hours of PvP my fingers ache.

As much as I love the game, christ I have 2 level 50's already, I think the first major content patch needs to come soon and it will be a make or break thing for the game. If it doesn't contain enough to keep people happy (end game pvp is a joke) then it will result in people leaving the game.

2 level 50's TWO LEVEL FIFTY'S! How? I have 6 days play time and I'm still to hit 50 (48.) Am I levelling ridiculously slowly or something?

Uhh, maintenance is scheduled for now, yet I can login and play on my server...thoughts? Did it finish early? Am I just lucky?

If they don't add a lvl 50 only PvP bracket this maintenance I am going to rage so hard.

Level 50 peeps will near full battlemaster gear Vs Level 10's with 8 skills and no talent points, Bioware troll, best troll.

P.s. I know they won't, they are too busy working on the new buggy instance.

After the mad rush with WoW to level I've taken it slow with this game, my guilds only got 1 person to level 48 so far so its quite nice to relax and level.

I dont see the point in rushing to level 50, and then have to wait for everyone to catch up to do things, bit silly really, it seems to be the most boring part of a MMO after a while, WoW was just raiding or pvp at the end level, as much fun as it was in TBC to do end game (where in my opinion the game started going downhill) going the same place 4 nights a week to the same fight isnt fun anymore :(

Im still enjoying the story line with the dialogues and im only on my 3rd world, nearly finished it yesterday at level 23 and got a "bonus" mission when leaving, went to the bonus mission to find 50 other missions to do :S
