*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

OK I am officially sick of Huttball. Might reroll Republic just to avoid it.

Getting a bit sick of the cover mechanic on my sniper as well.

I'm under the impression that Bounty Hunters make more money leveling up than everyone else due to what they do. Or at least this is what I've seen. My Sorcerer ended up with 300k at level 50 without speeder 2 or speeder 3, my friends BH had 700k and he had speeder 2 already. Just finished my own BH and had 1.1 million at 50 and had speeder 2 already.

Could be just bad money management on my Sorcerer, but I never see a skint Bounty Hunter.
I had 750k on me when i hit 50 on my juggernaut and already had speeder 2. You must have been spending a lot on other things as the sorc's in my guild have 200k+ in the 30's

Do we know how many players the server cap is set at? Tomb of Freedon Nadd has, without fail, 45 minute queues every single night, and yet when I log on there are no more than 250 people in the Imperial Fleet, and about 100 in every zone I go to. I know the game itself is huge, and there are probably hundreds more people in Warzones / Flashpoints, but outside of the faction hubs I don't think I've ever been in a zone where it felt lively with players. Phasing only serves to increase this problem, and I really can't understand why a brand new game with an abundance of resources behind it has that feature at all (or perhaps I'm understanding it wrong? Is it there to increase our performance rather than keep the server stable?)

Have BioWare just played it ultra-safe with the limit on players per server, or are they genuinely incapable of holding more? The queue-times are of course a big issue, having probably killed the OCUK guild we have there as well as hindering my evening sessions, but more importantly (and something not limited to the servers with queues) the game-world itself just seems too sparse - the number of players you see in your day-to-day travels around the galaxy really doesn't seem to reflect a popular MMORPG.

I am really enjoying this game so far, I've got that 'addicted' feeling that I once had and lost with WoW which I couldn't seem to get when I tried any other MMO.

Quest system is great and actually makes me interested to do them thanks to the voice acting and Mass Effect style convos, on WoW I always just skipped quests text and killed whatever it told me to kill etc just to level fast, but I find myself actually investing my time in the questing which is great because I don't feel like I need to rush to get to 50.

While it may or may not ever stand up to the goliath (WoW) I have to give Bioware massive credit for being the MMO that got me back into MMO's.

Fellow PvPers, thank you for taking on the challenge of player vs player combat in The Old Republic!
In the first week after launch there were over a million Warzone matches played, with nearly half of all players participating in Warzones. Bad news for Republic players, though - the Empire currently leads overall, having won 53% of all Alderaan Civil War and Voidstar matches (across all servers). Huttball has been played the most, accounting for 39% of all matches – and yes, we’ll be adding a new same faction vs. same faction enabled Warzone in the future.
We are all really excited at the tremendous volume of participation we’ve seen in PvP thus far. Your interest and demand dictates what we’ll be delivering in the near future. I wanted to give you some insight into where we are with PvP development and where we are going.
First and foremost here is what we are addressing as a top priority:
Level 50 Bracket Warzones: Level 50 players will have a bracket of their own, playing in separate Warzone matches to lower level players. This is something we have wanted to do for some time and now that there is an increasing number of level 50 players we will be implementing the feature in January.
Open World PvP on Ilum: The planet of Ilum currently allows for open world PvP even on a PvE server, but the mechanics and incentives of the planet are not in as intended yet. We’re working on longer term goals for the planet and for other PvP areas, but expect to see some interim adjustments in January - such as more respawn points to focus conflicts, restricting Companion Characters from the area, and revisions to rewards. Ilum will also become a major source of Valor. Valor buffs will increase and decrease based on the objectives your faction owns. These buffs increase the amount of Valor you receive per player kill. However they do not give anything in and of themselves, so players will still need to defeat other players for significant Valor rewards. Additionally, daily and weekly missions will require player kills to complete. Player kills for quests and Valor credit will have diminishing returns per player killed. So, the more players that are fighting other players, the better it is for everyone.
Combat Gameplay: You’ll see several optimizations come online in January, and we are going to continue to tune this as time goes on.
We also have other exciting features coming in the near future including Ranked Warzone Matches, PvP Stat Tracking, Open World PvP Loot Drops, more Warzone medals for different objectives, Guard Optimizations and Target Optimizations.
Additionally we’re looking at ways to enable team vs. team, more level brackets and the ability to choose which Warzone you want to play in.
This is not a complete list of everything we’re working on that’s PvP related, but we have to keep some surprises for later! Thanks again for all your feedback and please keep it coming. We read as much as we can then cross reference with metrics to take action on features and tuning the game to ensure an enjoyable and competitive PvP community.

Just had a 3 win streak with G-Man and a friend of Robbos (not sure if he is on here?) - Nice to have a tank (G-Man) who can tank, didn't get any screenshots but 75K protection points!

Had an epic battle on one of the turrets on Alderaan literally between 3 of us took on an entire Empire team and respawns until they eventually gave up!!

We also tanked/healed/dps'd through an entire team on Void Star so much so we were still at the first door while our team mates had done the bridge and the next door with no enemy intervention!

YAYYY

Does anyone kinda feel like they aren't really into this game? Im not getting that oooooh aaaaaah kinda thing whilst exploring, hell the maps are so linear on ord mantell I haven't actually felt like im playing an mmo.

I don't really feel engaged into the whole story :( Will keep soldiering on though to see if it gets better.......

Checkout the Immortals guild on that server, lots of OCUK'ers and lots of pvp

Yup we have tons of OcUk'ers in the guild and we do a shed-load of PvP, think we the only guild on our server that actually goes after the sith in Open world PvP, had a great bash with them last night, they were chasing one of our players on Hoth, he called and about 15/18 of us went, was funny he came over the top of the hill with these 4 sith behind, and we come up the other side ... I guess they called there mates while laying dead on the floor with us doing a lil jig on there bodies, and so we had a clash, they lost :D

www.mmo-guild.co.uk for info!

Or whisper Nemeses, Seven, Sengar Blounty Anakiss, Dist.
(note we a 18+ and mains guild)

just created my first character on my old SWG guilds server, went empire but no idea what they are so we'll see.

disappointed there seems to be no purely trade characters etc, perhaps I am expecting to much :(

Got to tweak the gfx as it currently looks pants but PC isn't great, we shall see how it goes.

If my old corp is dead, i'll probably be joining a pvp with ocuk players on it :)
