Big macs bigger?

A Big Mac is a Big Mac. The size doesn't vary from State to State, if it did the nutrition information on the website would be out and, well, it just wouldnt be a Big Mac.

I've never noticed variation in portion size from State to State either. McDonalds appears to be the same wherever you go - East Coast or West.

I'm definately not into the whole food tourism thing so tend to eat far too many McDonalds etc when I go over there, so I'd have noticed :p

Well, that is how I would understand it, but, as I say, having asked, they percieve them different from state to state.

I've seen reasonably large / full Big macs in Scotland yet served a scrawny mess of one @ Clacket Lane on the M25, each restauraunt varies, sometimes considerably. - perhaps they have the same thing over there?

Then it would say 'Varies by State' on the website if they were different. They are the same - it's the point in McDonalds.

Because Bob at Claket Lane cannot be bothered and doesnt put enough Salad into it, yet Fred elsewhere loves his job and stuffs loads of Salad in - just natural process variation, not a different policy depending on region.

The only differences in McDonalds products are from national market to national market.

i first went to the US in 2001 and for years had always heard ''oh the portions are massive, you only need to order one meal and you can share it, oh the food they waste' etc. utter nonsense, i've eaten in various places in the US and the portions are the same over there as they are here and mcdonalds meals are the same too apart from drinks and fries differ in ratio.

I remember went the McFlurry first came out when I was in America and it was about the size of a medium drink here :o

When they brought them out here they were a lot smaller, thank god.

McD milks shakes in the states are awesome, proper chucks of strawberry and more sugar than you can shake a stick at more akin to proper slightly melted ice cream than the insipid junk we get.

A few years ago they seemed bigger, portions seemed big generally, but now it seems to be the same. McDonalds offer lovely 1/3rd pound angus burgers out there though...

I typically go to Mcdonalds about once a month, I never get a Big Mac though (not for many years) because they just don't seem as filling as some of the other junk.

Years ago (mid `90s) they used to have the "Mega Mac" or double Big Mac I think it was called in the US - good times. Also they used to serve root beer on tap as well - YUM.

No you didn't. Oldest and most ridiculous urban legend in the book.

Hummm I am calling bs on the special sauce/wink scenario... You have watched too much of Harold and Kumar ;)

Er, what! Yes I did. I am not saying there was anything in the sauce it was just off putting. It happened in Mcdonalds's in Northampton when I was working away from home around 6-7 years ago. I was working on a night shift re-vamping B&Q stores and went to Mcdonalds on the way to work for a quick meal. The guy didn't do a kind of dirty wink it was more of a cheeky wink as if he knew I would get the joke. Maybe he had been watching Harold and kumar (I have never seen them, I just had to google them). I also don't have any books on urban legends :).

Big Mac's do not live up to their name. i usually end up with a big mac meal + another burger + mcflurry and am still hungry after

1300 in a single meal isnt that huge surely provided you dont do it every day? I mean you've still got another 1200 calories you can eat that day..

depends on the person tbh, for some it may not be huge for others it might be, the reason why some people could eat 3 a day and still not be fat whilst someone else could eat 1 a day and become fat

I am not a food enthusiast, But every now and again I love a maccy d's.

Standard order being, big mac meal large, 6 chicken nuggets and a free cheese burger. Win.

Mcdonalds should not and never be healthy, it should be salty and full of all the bad stuff

free cheeseburgers? do you have like 1000 vouchers or something?
