Worm Holes

whats a worm hole?

Something that doesn't exist only people people with a very strange imagination.

Tell me where there is one, and I will fall through it. Take a camera with me too.

They have never been observed, but just like lots of things in physics it does not mean that it is not possible. The current laws of physics allow for them to exist, so I don't why you are saying it is limited to sci-fi.

Say what?

An occurrence when a black hole gets quantum entangled with a theoretical White hole. Which would possibly allow travel between the two. What state you would be on the other side is debatable :)

:p

Basically, black hole sucks in, white hole blows out.

A black hole should in theory rip apart spacetime, so if you could somehow travel into the centre of one, you could travel elsewhere in space and time.
But, we've never observed a white hole, and to travel safely into a black hole you would need a whole lot of negative energy. Negative energy exists, but we don't know how to harness it, or create the suns worth that would make this form of travel possible.

Physics says yeah sure, go crazy. Engineering says no.

So if they have never been observed how can they exist? Only through peoples theories and imagination?

That thing called the universe is pretty massive. So massive in fact we can only see an utterly insignificant portion of it in detail. Your argument is the equivalent to walking off of the plane in Kenya then claiming that lions can't possibly exist because there isn't one in front of you.

Our current theories about the universe deem it possible, but highly unlikely. As a result, even if they do exist, they're so few and far between that the human race is unlikely to ever see or interact with one.

So where does the proof come from that they do exist?

I am not saying that they exist, but I am saying that you should not say that they don't exist. Not observing something does not mean that they don't exist. If we had a proper means of testing whether they exist or don't, then we would know. But we don't and we certainly can't look back in time to see if they have existed in the past.

Would you think its completely crazy that a planet could orbit a two star system?
Because up until very recently none had been discovered.
Universe is pretty big, lots of things are possible, theorised, but undiscovered.

You seem to have skim read my post and missed the important word: theory. At no point did i say there was proof. A huge portion of what we take for granted in science is still theoretical (eg. the cause of mavity).

They might have, the people who are dead now may well have been sucked into them and not live to tell the tail. :p
