Whats your favourite online shooter to play these days

Hiding in a bush 300 miles away sniping, so much tactics.

requires skill to snipe from there, and if you can't kill them you obviously deserve to die :p I'm a more aggressive sniper though and am always on my feet moving around. Sitting in 1 place waiting for someone to appear is....booorring and stupid...also makes you very vulnerable.

The thing I hate in BF3 though is the MAV riding and going to places where you can shoot out of but can't shoot in.

Haha, I was kidding. It's just noy my play style you know? I prefer the more fast paced, fling your mouse across the mousepad to aim at them as they fly over your head from a rocket jump kinda playstyle.

mw3? abysmal graphics with campers and bunnyhoppers?

I'd say graphics are adequate, most people are going to turn them down for multiplayer to get the clearest view anyhow.

The game gives you all the tools to deal with campers and bunnyhoppers are predictable :P and not a problem if you play hardcore.

Visual clutter is undesirable for a competitive game. I don't know how competitive BF3 is, but if there is a competitive scene for it I imagine some players will turn down their graphics settings to reduce clutter.

I know what u meant but I didnt know that by redcuing gfx details u get less cluter and objects?

If so thats unfair?

So I should lower some of my gfx options? U can have it so u have high detailed gfx but less objects? or high details=more objects low details=less objects?

as was with all fps smoke was one the main things with partical density you couldnt see through it without walla i see you was happening back in cs 1.6 with people doing that so id assume for sure it happens still now

It's not unfair lol. I only briefly played BF3 to confirm my dislike for it so I can't tell you specifics. But having low graphics settings is more of a preference thing in most cases than objectively being better. Except in those rare cases with smoke being easier to see through etc.

the graphics are horrible and dated. turning down graphics is even more dreadful.

UT 2004, playing on a custom map assault/assault race server.

Oh and a bit of COD 2, amazing how ageless that game is and still got a dedicated following.

pay shceme?

Yes like any F2P game there are microtransactions. In Tribes it is like LoL. You can buy gold in game which you can use to unlock new classes or buy XP boosters for various lengths of time. No class is better than any other class they all have strengths and weaknesses so you cannot just pay your way to the top.

Another vote for TF2 here. It's also free.

I'd say the learning curve is different compared with some of the other games mentioned above but is darn rewarding once you 'get it'. The visual style isn't for everyone but I think it's lush.
