2x 64gb m4's or one 128gb?

hi question is the topic.
would u benifit in having 2 in raid0 over one 128gb drive? what would the pros and cons of both be??:confused:
 
I assume the pros are that it would read/write much faster in raid 0, as it would be writing to both drives at the same time.

The cons would be reliability - if one dies.. I believe you lose all your data, which doubles the risk of failure ( A risk which I hope is low anyway ).
I'm also not 100% if you can use TRIM on drives in raid0, I read that some new intel firmware allows it but I'm not totally sure about others. Another con is that you use two of your SATA ports, i'm not sure if that's an issue for you / how many other drives or ports you have at the moment on your motherboard. Power consumption I would think would also be higher using two drives rather than one. I'm not sure how much power these things take, but I don't think it's much.

Price - does it work out cheaper / more expensive?
 
Trim in RAID will soon be available if you are going to use an Intel controller. (RST drivers 11.5)

Yes, you double the chances of failure but if you can backup to another drive and understand the risk.....why not.
