Hyundai

Evo have done an article on the Veloster Turbo, more pics and technical info 201 BHP at 6000 RPM and 45mpg, personally I think it looks fantastic

I do too, Hyundai have really upped their game in a surprisingly short period. European manufacturers must be starting to sweat a bit.

I have to wonder if the mileage claims will be achievable under normal driving conditions though, sounds too good to be true considering the normally aspirated one is ~43mpg.

They really have started making quite a push. I like the Genesis, and with those engines it could be really good. Mind, don't like the veloster idea at all. Its four doors or two, not three. (I don't count the boot as a door, and never will :))

+ How many thread revivals can we get here :D

The boot lid is a door when you can gain access to the cabin from it, i.e. a hatchback. Might not be a very practical method of entry and exit, but it is at least possible unlike a saloon or coupe.

The indicative 0-60 times for that engine once shoved into the Veloster are also very disappointing, if that's representative of the overall performance available then it would be of no interest to me. Shame as I actually like the car inside and out, hopefully it's just the way the car is geared.
