Border Gavaskar Trophy: Australia v India Test Series

Easy mistake to make; the way the Indians keep banging on about Tendulkar's tons, you'd think he'd made 99 each in ODIs & Tests!

:p

Yep i suppose i just took their word for gospel...that will teach me next time:p

Still a century of 100's in both formats is amazing if he can finally achieve that landmark.

So, Pakistan v Eng series anyone? considering cricket threads only have the same 4 posters i can't be bothered to make a new thread :p

Warm up's not going so well =/ bowlers done well, and Cook but otherwise...

Cook though, what a machine !

Should be a good series hopefully between Pak and England...hopefully this time without any controversy like the last time they played.

Rooting for Pak obv but i think England are too strong at the moment but either way am looking forward to seeing how far Pak have come since their last meeting.

UK vs Pakistan... can't decide who to support for that one! Probably Pakistan, though I don't expect them to win.

If India loses this series, how badly does it affect their international Test ranking?

Very possible for India to be dropped below SA, with Australia knocking on the doorstep, depending on results of the relevant teams next few games/series.

England vs Pakistan.. no controversy??? What kind of world are you living in? :p

2 for 44.

Sehwag: 0 (caught Ponting, bowled Hilfenhaus). Dravid: 9 (bowled Siddle).

Perhaps it's time to stop calling Dravid 'the wall' and start calling him 'the loose collection of randomly assembled bricks.'

:p

4 for 63.

Tendulkar: 15 (lbw bowled Harris). Gambhir: 31 (caught Haddin bowled Hilfenhaus).

Top order removed before lunch, that's not too shabby.

Cricinfo is delivering top shelf hilarity, as usual:

So, India 73 for 4 at the end of the session, after they didn't change the batting despite losses in the first two Tests. Despite all the talk of the green track, and Perth getting back to its pacy best, there wasn't anything alarming on this track. The bowlers got some sideways movement, but the bounce was true and there wasn't much that was unplayable, certainly not warranting four wickets in a session. Only one session into the game, and Indian fans already turning to gallows humour.

Like Bhaskar: "Considering the rate at which Indian wickets are falling in this series, can you change your commentary style to something like "Harris to Laxman. No wicket" instead of no run..?"

Ranjith: "Indian Team looks like they studied hard for a French exam but the paper turned out to be in German"

:)

6 for 144. Oh wow, I missed two wickets!

Kohli: 44 (caught Warner bowled Siddle). Laxman: 31 (caught Clarke bowled Siddle).

Stagger me, look at Australia's run rate: 7.11! 0 for 51 after only 7 overs! Warner has four 4s and a 6; Cowan has two fours.

:D

*edit*

0 for 84, Warner is on fire; Yadav and Kumar are getting blattered all over the place. Warner is holding his bat like a medieval broadsword; Yadav is holding the ball like a five day old samosa.

Superb elbow action, he's got the placement just right.

*edit*

Warner brings up his century with a 6! Fastest Test century by an opener; fourth fastest century in Test cricket history!

*edit*

0 for 149 at stumps.

LOLIndia...dear god all out for 161 runs:eek:...absolutely shredded by the Aussie bowlers. Absolutely no clue as to what they are doing out there at the moment....telling you this is the Fletcher effect;):p.

Funniest comment i read on cricinfo is this one: India fought like cornered tigers. Albeit tigers that, having been cornered, were promptly shot and turned into rugs:p:D

Its kinda sad in a way that a team that were number 1 6 mths ago have been utterly woeful, playing as bad as Bangladesh at the moment:p

Well done to Warner for smashing a quick century, 4th fastest in history...looks like its going to be another Aussie win unless somehow tomorrow India can get some quick wickets.

Damn I thought the match started tonight, I've missed the whole 1st day !!! Have to watch the highlights. Looks like India got battered so I didn't miss much.

You could have started watching after the 60th over and still missed India's entire first innings.

:p

Amazing stuff from Warner. Hes a real star of the Big Bash to break through - one of the benefits i guess! Here hoping Marsh can get more than 5 :)

I feel bad for TheCenturion :( :p

Expect nothing less though from India after their shambolic tour of England, good to see the Aussies continuing the rough treatment, though the reaction from the BCCI will probably be to introduce Annual ODI World Cups lasting 6 months with 45 games plus a final.

When they were getting slapped everywhere, what were the Indian players shouting back?
"Wait until we play in India"

Or in other words - given up out here already
