US marines urinated on bodies of taliban fighters

It actually kind of scares me that there are people on this forum that think its acceptable to kill someone in battle and then urinate on their corpse for a laugh.

Is it just because its some faceless person you'll never know anything about? Imagine it was one of your closest friends or family lying there, being ****** on for some scumbags amusement? How would you feel about it then?

well, one of the marines will probably commit suicide because of this and other things (obviously all of them are in a dark place emotionally) and the others will need a lot of therapy. another failing of the system.

anyone who thinks this kind of act is OK needs to think it over.

what? if I were the civilian and I spotted my american "saviors" kill some "evil taliban" that were killing my friends and invading my country

Erm, mate the Taliban are from Afghanistan, their the lot that the USA armed/funded/trained to rise up against the USSR when they controlled it back in the 80's.

its still laughable to attempt to take the moral high ground when you indescriminalty seed agricultural areas or public roads with pressure activated explosive devices..or strap bombs onto children who know no better

The point is that there is no high ground. It is irrelevant if one side did/does worse things, you must still condemn actions such as these. They are in no way morally justifiable.

ooow yes, I'd be raging.... had the americans simply killed my friend I'd be ok and say "hay ho, jsut another battle", but seeing them pee on the corpses i'd propbably go on a murderous rampage....

I find it equally odd that killing is fine and peeing is bad.... no one is asking were these real taliban, where were the circumstance of their deaths.. was there a gun battle or did the americans spot some "funny looking doods" and sniped them all dead a mile away...

From my Hermon Miller size B office chair brandishing my keyboard: this is completely worn and they need to be punished. how could they do such a thing??!!!

In the real world: its war, they are already dead. **** happens but they really should not be doing that.

and the americans bomb inocent civilians, and kill random people for doing reasonable things... those snipers killing poeple for picking up valuable looking objects... troops unable to work out who is shooting at them firing into random houses and throwing in gerenades... shooting up the locals temples and shrines in a rage...

anyone tell me what the name of that american conference where the x-troops were talking about all the things they did to the locals...

Killing people is wrong in my book.

Urinating on dead bodies is also wrong.

But expecting soldiers to be 100% squeaky clean during wartime is totally unrealistic. It messes with your sensibilities.

Edit: The difference, I guess, is sometimes people have to kill people :( ... but I can't see a situation where one would be forced to urinate on a dead body.

I cant comprehend the fear, anger and stress a soldier must experience in war so tbh I find it hard to condemn them when they act foolishly in the heat of the moment. That's not condoning urinating on a corpse but looking at it in context its not the same as someone lobbing it out and letting splash on Mrs Miggins who's just been knocked over by a bus.

Have to agree with Vonhelmet on this.

It's disgusting when a persons remains get treated this way - regardless of what we many think of them - those men are some peoples fathers, sons & brothers.

The fact they the people doing it are solders is irrelevant - even if they were soldiers - the fact the the Taliban does it is also irrelevant - how can adults not understand that two wrongs do not make a right.

Lowering ourselves to that level isn't something that should be ignored.

i thought muslim terrorist cutting off peoples heads and blowing up wman and children was bad. let me know when us troops are doing that then i will care

What makes us "better people" is that we should care about things like this and shouldn't be stooping to their level. Once one thing becomes acceptable it opens it up for the next part to become acceptable.

Disgusting.

And I don't doubt that Castiel, a bona fide soldier, will shortly be along to agree with me.
Disgusting? hardly, i've done worse things to mates.
insulting and highly unprofessional, yes!
its a shame that a very select few have to ruin what many more work to acheive.

Soldiers are trained to kill they are not trained to show compassion.
They are trained to follow orders.

I doubt this come from the top - they are also trained to kill the enemy - not random people (like the one who was arrested not long ago for chucking grenades over walls at civilians for a laugh).
