This trail rocked just as much today as when it's bone dry. Had a comedy otb when my wheel went through the ice in a deeper-than-i-suspected gully, fun times. Also it's bloody hard adjusting to a ht when you've been on a squishy for ages.

Great ride, despite the -10C actual temperature at ride start. Just had trouble with water freezing in my CB tube before I'd even drunk from it. It had squeezed back down the tube from the bladder without me noticing.

Another chilly ride (-3) up at Golspie today. Great run though, despite the frosty rocks at the top :)
Need to get a decent DSLR to capture some better photos though....also need some bigger jumps! :D

Brilliant ride on Saturday ( Woburn), followed by the worst ride I have ever had.. ever, including days of bad injury. I literally got f.a pleasure out of riding today and I feel robbed of a day.

A mate kept on badgering me about going to do the South Downs (towards Brighton area), where there are massive rolling hills. He kept on saying that the scenery is gerat and some fast descent - though obviously not technical. Well, if any of you ever have a mate saying the same thing, slap him immediately. Riding over grass fields or walkers clay paths, massive hills and descending on grass fields, gives you no joy. The fcking ice head-on wind did also nto entirely sweeten the experience.

I'm sure you've all seen this by now, but i dont think it's been posted in here yet(?)

Gee Atherton's new bike:

I'm not all that impressed by its looks, i hope it's fast for him tho.

The fury has been raced for the last two years now - Mick Hanna's been on them.

Regardsless, I agree with you, never liked the look of them, the all-white looks rubbish too, though I'm sure that will change.

Did another lap round Grizedale today got a bit cold towards the end. I'm getting fitter only had to stop 4-5 times today to get the old breath back.
Managed some little drop offs too and then my bars spun down on me coming off the end of some northshore, so nearly ate my headset. They're damn tight now though

Oh yeah, i didnt mean it's a brand new bike. I mean it's new to Gee.
When i said "I hope it's fast for him", i didnt mean that it's an unproven/untested bike, i should have said "I hope it suits Gee"

First race entry of the year paid for although it's not until June. Forced into a decision as it was likely to sell out quickly after entries opened today.

Choice was a 100 mile race a 9 hour drive away (which I've done before), or a 50 mile an hour away (where I've done other smaller races).

The hour drive won.

Is there a place to find out where races are on? I'd still class myself as a beginner but wouldn't mind taking part in some races that are open to all.

That GT looks awesome, it looks good in white I think as well but I would want it in another colour if I'm being honest. Something bright and loud though.

Recommend me a fork

Could do with some advice please - I'm thinking of upgrading the fork on my Specialized Pitch Comp 2010, although the travel is now lovely and buttery smooth, its too soft for me.

So what I want is a fork that has 140/150/160mm travel, 1" 1/8th steerer tube, Maxle and is around £250-300 - ideally in the sale!

Can anyone recommend a good such fork? Air would be a bonus, as it'd avoid me ending up with the same issues this fork currently has. (Pike 327, if anyone cares... or wants one)

Oh, and silver stanchions are a complete no. Just, dont even go there.

Silly question but can't you just put a heavier spring inside the current fork if you like how it feels? Unless you want more travel ofc.

Either get a new Pike spring or find some second hand Lyriks.
