OP venting over a delayed delivery /facepalm

So? He paid for s service and it wasn't provided, I would be annoyed as well. I imagine you would be to.

Oh this is good, just checked YOUR thread history: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18334838

I pre - ordered Battlefield 3 from Zavvi, it was dispatched on Wednesday.

I paid for Next Day Delivery, 4.95 in which they charged me.

It also get pay now and receive 28th lalala

But im sitting here yet to receive it and they're telling me its standard 3 day delivery meaning it will come tommorow

Am I entitled to claim or ask for a refund right now

Don't think that could have worked out better. I've highlighted the bit that makes you look like the biggest hypocrite, in case you weren't sure.

Had a package by Royal Mail this morning at 7.16am in the bloody morning. On my day off as well. I was fuming by the time i opened the door, and he stood there with a package, 'here you go mate' handed me the package and walked off to his van. Un*******believable, i thought and went back to bed.

True story.

People complain when it is delivered early, delivered late, not delivered and delivered.

If only delivery drivers could read minds and understood the time table of the customers day so they can plan when to knock and deliver, hell people even complain when a driver knocks and not use a doorbell instead, or they used a doorbell and not knocked! Even complain when left with a neighbour, or they complain when it is not left with a neighbour. I wish the delivery service was back to the old fashioned ways and never is a next day service, I wish it was all back to Royal Mail and it turns up when it turns up when it wants to! :p :D

Haha yeah that should be an option: 'when it wants - free'

I'm sure its like every other job though. When you really CBA, you won't do it correctly or not at all - like the incident i heard about where they just posted a 'sorry we missed you' slip without a knock, tut

Most delivery company drivers get paid per delivery, so depending on the company I would expect the driver to actually try otherwise he doesn't get paid.

Some companies do, I think it is a good way to get rid of lazy delivery drivers. :)

I doubt they tip-toe to the front door on purpose, knock on the door and then hide behind a bush refusing to deliver a parcel. :p

Marky, dont you ask for a refund?

should we pay for a service that hasnt been given?

I suppose that's a fair point. You should at least be refunded the next day delivery charge. I've never really bothered, but you should be within your right to do that! I should complain more :p

Personally I have only ever complained once about a delivery. I paid for next day PM delivery. My mrs comes back from dropping kiddies to school at 9.15am and the delivery driver had dropped a card saying he turned up but no one was there to open the door, and had put 12.15pm on the card!!!! Out of principal and being royally P'eeved did I complain. He shouldnt have lied!!!

Having said that I normally dont bother, although its a pain when you make arrangement for someone to be at home etc, only for something not to turn up :)

Same things happened to me today...first time in ages it hasn't turned up on time though, HDNL was the courier. Nothing exciting, just Avery labels but it's still irritating.

Their tracking is showing:

8AM - out for delivery
6PM - in the depot.

No card, no attempt at delivery....bah!

just been cheesed off with DX, was expecting today (which i specified due to somebody being in all day) only for it not to arrive. No note, no attempt at delivery, aparantly this was due to "technical difficulty". Now I'm stuffed as they wont send to another address and I cant guarantee somebody will be in now untill saturday, not helped by the fact they "arnt making deliveries" in my area untill thursday now either...

*rant over*
