You are a cat, this garden isn't even yours

Any form of cat scaring device is your only hope. If they fail, there's not much you can do.

Getting a cat could be a solution, you'll learn to love them in time. ;)

The first appears to be the best solution, the second is untenable as I have a strong dislike of cats.

Um?

herp derp, spergin' manchild anime basement.

Just say what you see. Baby steps, take your time.

Heh, all the cat lovers fluffy animal syndrome does make me laugh.

So it's fine to hurt animals if they are doing something you don't like? Nonsense.

It's not just cats, I'd apply the same to any animal. I'd only harm one if it was threatening me or something.

Protect your garden habitat with the Defenders Mega-Sonic cat repeller.

There are 9 million cats in the UK. The mammal society says cats kill around 275 million prey items a year, including 55 million birds. Voles and other small mammals make up much of the remainder.

The Sonic Cat Repeller will help protect your garden habitat and encourage wildlife and birds back into it. The Sonic Cat Repeller incorporates a sophisticated PIR (Passive Infra Red) detection system, which constantly monitors a fan shaped area of a 98 degrees arc up to a distance of 12 metres. The protected area is over 120sq. meters of unobstructed space. The Sonic Cat Repeller detects animals moving into this area and triggers a burst of continuously variable ultrasound, which sweeps a frequency range of 18,000Hz, 24,000 Hz to repel them. Simultaneously the LED indicator on the front of unit signals that it is now activated.

The Sonic Cat Repeller is powered by two 9V alkaline batteries. Battery power is conserved by the PIR detection system, which allows the unit to remain on stand-by between activation periods, therefore maximizing battery life.

The Push on/off Test Button on the face of the unit will drop the sonic frequency to an audible range. This enables you to check that the unit is functioning properly and to hear the swept frequency. The unit is also weather resistant.

This product was formerly called the 'Big Cheese Cat Repeller'.

Please note that results may vary and it can take up to 28 days to deliver a full deterrent.

Them or us, I guess

I will actually update this thread once I go to the stores at the weekend. A personal bug bear of mine is when people ask for advice - often silly or not on my wavelength as this might be to many of you - but then doesn't post back about what they did to fix their non-problem.

Not gonna be that guy.

Wait! Missing the obvious here, nuke them from orbit or get a flame thrower!

That'll sort the owners out, not sure on the cats though.

Dump a shed load of paprika and chilli powder over the bed. Works a treat and takes about 30secs.

I love cats but can't have one ATM. My neighbour's were attempting to ninja poop until they entered ghandi's lair of heat.

As has been suggested before - look up some of the high frequency noise contraptions.

Any chance it could be foxes? If not, see if you can work out where the cats live and have a quick word with the owner/s - obviously they won't be able to stop the cats from roaming where they please, but at least they'd be aware that they are causing a problem. :)

Robbo/ Bitslice The cats were NOT released in to the wild, they went to a cat home in Aberdeenshire.

So, they would get a new home.

So your against all fishing, fox hunting, general hunting etc.

I have been brought up with the whole gamut of animals, dogs, cats, fish, geese, chickens, goats...you name it.

I would never maliciously harm any animal (or person) but I am used to having, say, pet geese which you raise and nurture for a few years and then wring their necks and stick em in the pot.

So it's your pet, you have the feelings for it, don't just transpose them on to me, all I have is a nuisance that craps in my garden. If it takes a kick up the arse to chase him off, so be it.

So yea, I have been brought up with cats for years and I still hate them :p
