First few seasons were actually OK but after that I agree with everyone else it declined sharply. Plus the fact that I work in a hospital started to make if feel rather annoying.
Absolutely, Series 7 was absolutely appalling tv. It was just terrible. The new interns were awful and the jokes were ageing and done before.
Series 1-3 are the best, with 4 and 5 being relatively good, but 6 and 7 nosedive. I've seen bits of 8 and hated every second of it, the intern with no compassion, Kelso retiring, really bad season. For this reason, I won't be watching the 9th (I didn't even realise there was one until I read this).
Never really worked out why people find it so amusing tbh. It's alright, don't get me wrong. Fairly clever characterisation, some funny jokes. But it's not anything special.
There's something about Scrubs whereby I find it a bit hard to just sit and watch a single episode when it's being shown on TV, sort of out of context.
A few years back, I broke my arm and my Brother had all the box sets for the time. So I watched it back to back from the start and absolutely loved it.
It did go down hill towards the end of the show as others have mentioned.
I really quite enjoyed the first few seasons.
The later seasons were nowhere near as good (or more to the point as funny), I watched it at that point more as a drama with comedic elements to find out what happened to the characters.
I never watched the last series without said characters because it defeated the entire point.
At it's best, it was very very good if you got the humour, at it's worst...about watchable.
The other thing that was always interesting about the show, at least at the start, is how real Doctors in the US said of all the medical shows on TV, Scrubs bizarrely was the closest to what it's really like as a Junior Doctor.
