Scrubs - does anyone else think it isn't even remotely funny?

It's one of those shows where you know pretty much exactly what you'll be getting every single time, a lot of it is just pretty gentle humour - it's unlikely to be the funniest thing you'll ever see but it has moments where it's quite funny plus it's perfectly innocuous so it appeals to as many people as possible. I'll frequently watch it if it's on and I just want something easy and a bit bland to watch.

While the later seasons were awful, Season 8 did have one of my favourite endings to a TV series as it wrapped up a lot of story lines, and told you what would happen in the future (i'm often left with a feeling of 'What happens next' when shows end) which made the decision to make a 9th series ridiculous, and I barely even acknowledge it's existance.

Meh, personally think people don't really notice(myself included) when a show really gets bad.

IE back when Friends was on, the first 2-3 series really were epic, but by that time it was part of routine to watch friends, when you're midway through you like the show so much you keep watching and you ignore the crap parts and remember the funny parts, at the time it seemed like series 1-6/7 were really good and then went downhill a bit.

Rewatching Friends years later on tv, you realise it's more like series 1-3 brilliant, 4-7 average, 8-10 utterly woeful, not funny for the majority of time with only a couple good episodes in the lot.

Back on Scrubs, same thing first few series were good, middle ones were average, probably 6-8 were actually poor and 9.... was just horrific.

It's easy to tell when a show gets bad.

When I watched a few episodes I didn't laugh but I bought the DVD Boxset because it was cheap and I love it, yes Season 9 was terrible but they really should have kept JD and Turk in it.

Maybe it just takes a few watches before you get it

Sometimes it made me LOl hard. One time in particular, when Ted is scared of that lawyer woman, gets extremely sweaty leans on a table slips and knocks himself out, silly, but when i first saw that i was in pain laughing so hard

Blasphemy

That episode is brilliant :D

I've never called myself a fan, but it is a great show.

Dr. Cox and Ted are such brilliant characters.

I always thought scrubs had a moral tint to most of its episodes, which I quite liked. Some of it is pretty hard hitting too, like the episode where the man knows he is going to die so they spend all night with him :(

+1. I met Ted which makes it even better :D

I enjoy actually being operated on more than watching Scrubs. It's one of those typical American schmaltz-coms - you know, the ones where something bittersweet (read: hackneyed emotional scenes with acoustic guitar accompaniment) is always around the corner.
