Ipad 2 now or wait for ipad 3?

I would wait rumours is march.

They need a 128gb version.

As these new text book on ibooks2(look absolutely sweet and very functional) can be 3GB. Now I'm way out of school. But imagine on of them for other stuff. Want to dabble in electronics, or a company wants to make an instruction manual.

I have already started designing a book for education. It's for a place where I work. The cap I do believe is a 2GB cap not 3GB.

2GB limit is only for regular authors. Biology textbook is 2.7GB so I assume some sort of partnership means they can ignore the limit.

i got the wifi only one and setup internet hotspot on my phone and just connected through that, who needs another 3g device when most phone contracts come with data plans

Personally I'd wait. It's pretty certain to have a "Retina" display and that alone is worth waiting a few months for. I recently went from an iPhone 3GS to a 4S and the difference in screen resolution is astounding.

I too am waiting for an iPad 3. Retina display should be immense in tablet form! Will have to get in quick with the pre-order ;)

I think the Ipad3 will have a higher res display or it's going to get left for dead by some of the new ICS tablets

The rumours I've read about the iPad 3 sound just like the 4S, improved camera, more and better sensors, no cosmetic changes at all. I just got an iPad 2 for Christmas, and there is nothing (bar a 7" model) that would warrant an upgrade for me, especially since I got the 64GB version for cheaper than the 16GB, gotta love cashback websites

That was the iPad2, there will have to be more updates with iPad3

Such as?

The only thing that is confirmed is retina display, what else can they give it?

Quad core processor/A6
More megapixel camera
Capacity bump (not going to happen)
Thinner/thicker design (rumours point to a slightly thicker design and no cosmetic changes)

Sounds more like an iPad 2S to me

I think saying the iPad is going to get left for dead if it doesn't improve is silly when they are top of the tablets sales market; their closest rivals are more traditional ebook readers than any of the Android offerings.

I personally still don't believe we are going to see an Ipad3 that soon, they were still advertising the 2 on tv last night.

Yeah that's normal though, when your as big as Apple you can shift old stock at a slightly reduced price all day long and get big discounts for bulk tv advertising as a lot of the smaller players can't afford it.

Why not the Ipad XXX super sauce?

Does one really need a £500? cup coaster?

Ask thyself these questions and your answer shall be revealed.

I use my ipad every day, but im starting to get annoyed with safari crashing if I have multiple apps open and the like. I am deffo going to be getting an ipad3 at somepoint, as I have enjoyed my ipad1 so much. More than likely I will repurpose my ipad1 as my multimedia remote.

When there are quad core 1080p (and higher) tablets on the horizon, sales wise it might still do well but in terms of hardware its will have been "left for dead" unless Apple pull out something nice with iPad3 (and it's not a 2S).
