** THE WORLDS FASTEST GTX 580 - EVGA CLASSIFIED ARRIVING NEXT WEEK! **

This doesn't seem like it's going to sell a single one unless someone REALLY hates AMD/ATI and has £500 to *****.

err, you do know where you are don't you

Doesn't have to be good value, best performance blah blah blah

Hardware Enthusiasts will buy these up the minute they come into stock for benchmarking

Hardware Enthusiasts will probably wait for the 28nm Kepler gpu's, as the 7970 is faster and cheaper. This card should have come out had come out Q4 '11 to of stood a chance imo.

Anyone else think this is a year too late? with the new nvidia series coming out this year and ati's already out this just seems pointless.

It is even worse when you compare it too a above standard gtx 580 model such as the Asus GeForce GTX 580 DirectCU II which is 359 pounds atm and that for 140 pounds more you get about 1-4 fps more in games which too me is pretty bad when you can pick up a ati 7970 for the same price and get about 10-20% more performance.

I've just bought one of these.

Awesome card. I play games but you guys have to remember that cards like this are used for other purposes as well.

I've bought mine to accelerate video editing in Premier Pro (CUDA cores) and the massive memory capacity is great for After Effects work.

NVIDEA isn't just about games ... this card will sell really well with people looking for application support as well as games.

Nobody ever said that people will stop buying Nvidia cards. The point that everyone is making is a very fair point and I agree with it. In my eyes, only a fool would buy this card over the 7970.

Strong words those, a fool eh? There are many reasons to buy NVIDEA cards and not all of them revolve around performance in games ...

As you're so keen on them you should at least learn how to spell NVIDIA ;)

Stock overdue, you have one? Does not compute.

I just died a little bit after reading those scores.

Those scores are just insane! I guess if I ever decide on a Quad set up, I will need to remember to put through a order of a nuclear power plant to go with them to run these beasts! :D

Now....only if we can find a spare copy of Crysis to bench this system against :)

Anyway back on topic, I think this EVGA 580 is being released quite late, I would have thought the pricing would have been more competitve against the 7970...oh well, I guess someone will want them!

I dont have 500 to burn but I do hate ATI enough to buy this card!

After the 6970 fail I wanted to get this card soo bad. But, no matter what angle I looked at it from (even with one eye closed) there was just no sense in it.

It cost £10 more than my 7970 (which is ignorable I confess) but it was slower in absolutely everything, even with the nuts revved off it.

If I was folding however it would have been a no brainer.

From a no-fan boy, this is terrible timing (agreed with the above poster) and pricing. 500 quid for a gfx card that does not beat a 7970 (which can be got for 80 quid less) makes no buisness sense IMO.
Granted I can see why peeps prefer Nvidia or prefer ATI but that price would not be justifiable at all.

Nice seeing this going for £500... I just got my £300 MSI 580 up to 960 Core, 4.6GHz mem - stable after two hours of looping Crysis 2 and Metro 2033 benchmarks :D

Given me an extra ~6FPS in Metro 2033 and ~10FPS in Crysis 2 :D

These card not yet arrived?

I've had one since October and love it!

Currently running at Core 950, Shader 1900 and Memory 2200.
In games with all settings maxed out it never goes over 65 degrees and fan never exceeds 40% so is pretty damn quiet :p

Not tried playing with the Voltages yet.
