best monitor to play bf3 on 300-400 budget i was thinking of hazro 27" 2560 .1440 res but not sure if 120hz monitors a better

spot on the hazro is a great choice, the 120hz won't make any difference in real world gaming, I play bf3 morning noon and night on a cheap and cheerful B2776HDS eyefinity setup and that only manages 60hz - which provides me with an awesome BF3 experience

120hz won't make any difference in real world gaming? What exactly is real world gaming because 120hz most definitely made a difference for my gaming!

My GTX 570 runs my BF3 on high at around 70-90FPS and it's definitely smooth! Not as smooth as I would get by tweaking/lowering settings to get the FPS at a constant 120 but still very nice.

My 120hz monitor is one of the best things I've bought for my PC in a long time.

Well I can't tell the difference between my old dell/Alienware 120hz monitor and my new (albeit lower hz 27" monitors) eyefinity setup :)

for the record I use SLI'd 580gtxs if that makes any difference

Well your FPS should be higher than mine so if you still can't tell the difference then I don't know what to say :P

I remember my old Iiyama 19" CRT which I used to have at 100hz and this Benq that I have now just reminds me of that :) I can sit there moving windows around and think 'Hmmmm SmOOOOOOOOTH'

Some games suck and won't go past 60fps sometimes without tweaking but most feel awesome when you get the FPS up there.

BF3 doesn't quite get to 120fps but TF2 and the CS:GO beta do and feel lovely and smooth

I noticed a difference going from a Hazro 27" to a 120hz monitor as well.

FPS games just feel more responsive, there is less blur on movement and it all feels smoother. This is just through real-world gaming use, I've not tested it as such.

I personally think there is a degree of placebo effect, I've compared the two and I'm buggered if I can see any difference, but I am probably a lot older then you whipper snappers so maybe your eyes can see things mine cant :p

I know what you mean and I would have probably felt the same if I hadn't seen them side by side (although it sounds like you have as well).

My eyes are 41. ;)

im only using a 6950 directcu11 2gb card so monitor just comes down to personal chioce really

I saw a massive and i mean massive difference between my old 60Hz and my new 120hz monitor.

The 120hz is much much smoother, so much in fact i could never go back to a 60hz for gaming.

If your going to spend quite a bit of cash on a monitor make sure its 120hz, you wont look back.

a huge +1

After getting my 120hz BenQ today and getting used to it... I WAS AMAZED when I played BF3...... Its hard to describe but it is just the PERFECT gaming monitor.

No input lag, amazingly responsive, and as smooth as silk, and has a very good picture/colour for a TN panel.

Going from a regular or good 60hz monitor to this the change in BF3 is amazing to say the least.....

Im using just one 6970 at stock clocks and I get 100+ fps with no drops below that, so you dont need a complete beast set up either.

I have shadows on low, textures on high and most other things on high and a few on medium, with cutom AA.

Looks amazing and cant be played any better

Stop giving lies out please.

Coming from an IPS monitor to a 120hz is the best upgrade i've ever done.

Battlefield is unreal.

No screen tear and no ghosting, everything is so smooth.

Get the new BenQ.

I must also back up the decision to buy the new benq. Over the weekend i retired my dell u2711 for the new benq and i must admit i am very very impressed with the benq. The games are just super smooth even at 80 to 90 fps compared to the dells 60fps.

Go get one you will not be disapointed.

Wind your neck in please, I was voicing my well researched opinion, not quite sure what makes you think I'd just lie for the sake of it?

Put it this way....

Anybody saying that a 120hz monitor (that is made for gaming with little to no input lag/ghosting) Is not better for gaming/ or you wont notice a difference form a regular 60hz monitor.... and actually suggesting an IPS (which have much higher response times and more ghosting and generally not as smooth for gaming)

Has NEVER tried a decent 120hz monitor, fact.

Either that or they are just spewing out complete nonsense and advising someone the complete opposite thing from what they should be.

IPS monitors are great for colour accuracy and general PC use and professional work and look very very nice, but for gaming apart from nice colours and view angles (which make no difference as you are gaming as you are sitting directly infront of your montior) they are not as ideal in rhe slightest as even a regular 60hz TN panel, let alone a 120hz TN panel which is atm apart from old CRT's gaming perfection.

If you are after a gaming monitor, for gaming. There is no question the new BenQ has pulled out all the stops and is gaming perfection, good colours for a TN panel, great picture quality, amazing smooth performance, and no input lag, feels like a CRT.

ah well, horses for courses, as previously stated (I'll repeat myself incase it got overlooked) I have owned both, infact I've owned various disparate models from multiple vendors and I was unable to tell the difference, this is why I was happy to move onto the eyefinity setup I chose without needing to waste £1500 for a difference I was unable to appreciate :)

Point of fact, I consider your posts are directly insulting my intelligence by claiming my opinion is nonsense.

I've either owned or used every monitor we are discussing, I've worked in computers since I was 17 (18 years ago) and have always had the highest specced machines reasonable money can buy.

Trust me when I say I have a valid platform upon which to formulate an opinon :)

People are entitled to their opinion, you can't just dismiss what he's saying. He's not talking numbers of a spec sheet, he's talking from experience.

There is also no need to capitalise words in your post. Ending sentences with the word fact does not make your opinions fact.

after everybodys comments im more confussed now than when i started lol is 120hz better than 2560x1440 res monitor. think i buy both lol
