** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

I agree with you, to be honest, but it's definitely gonna be a social guild first and foremost. In the future we'll probably start off by grouping a few together to do LFR runs, then we can see how it goes in regards to getting a raiding squad together in time. Casual will be key - I personally have little interest in HCs unless it's a natural transition that everybody's happy with, and my schedule doesn't allow me regular attendance on the same days every week. Still, it's something we don't need to stress about just yet.

It becomes an issue, as last time, when raids can't be failed. So "raiders" want to recruit to fill out the raid which takes away from the guilds aspect. They get ****y with non raiders when they don't/can't raid so raids go unfulfilled. These are problems from last time not just BS I am making up.

Anyhow we will look at this in the future :)

clear rules need setting out both on the site and guild info about aims and objective of the guild......that way there can be no confusion.

im also none to keen about none OCUK members joining unless a current OCUK member can vouch for their behaviour.

im also for social 10 man normals, dont want anymore than that......gone are the days of me spending daft hours on this game, i just want some fun.

Id be game for a 10 man casual provided no one would have an eppy if half way through i had to go and look after my one-and-a-half year old for 10 minutes. Somehow I dont think that would fly. Theres casual, then theres cashoooallll.

If I joined up I'd be all for 1 night a week 10 manning and if we didn't get 10 then no worries. Hardest part of being a casual guild is getting a day to suit everyone.
I wouldn't mind if we didn't either, best part about a social guild is the community.

also mainly looking to do some 10man raiding, be it 1 or 2 nights a week, but like im going to lvl a char on that server, and if we start to do a 10man on a semi/regular basis, il move over.

I'll be revamping the website soon and updating the info and clearing the old forums out and starting afresh. I'll sort the officers admin rights out also and they will have their own area for discussions.

Yes and no. The guild will be social so folk will be on as and when the can, if there are enough to get together an run something specific then fab, if not then the fun/community element will be there.

Darn it I never seem to find anyone on at this time of the morning, makes me wonder if I'm checking the right realm. :D

I might drag my trusty lvl 50 spare druid that way, Dragonmaw realm sucks so its gathering dust.

a question about professions:

I have a character with max inscription does having this mean that if level another to max inscription it will be faster as I could give him inks etc or will it not make much of a difference? (ill still have to farm the mats).

It will make it faster to level, generally only on the hard to get inks though as some of the skill still comes from milling the herbs in the first place.

It's not a profession I'd generally recommend having two of either, due to the Books of Glyph Mastery and the research required. You'll get easier shoulder enchants but not a lot more out of it so something else + tabard rep is probably better longterm. :)

As I'm sorting the website out can officers who were previously registered on the website (banshammer.com) drop me an trust mail with your original username so I can re-activate your account.

No1 & DB are already activated :)

its great that BH is starting up again and all, but what’s with all the old officers being reappointed? Newts I get, he never left actually so two thumbs up and DB as well I think, but rather than just saying ‘can everyone who was in charge of the fail last time and then quit, please come back and have another bash’, can we actually have people who want to do it and who are on board with the idea of a social guild aimed at PoM? maybe have a BH forum vote? we only seem to have a handful of people anyway as of yet.

Just so you can rest assured that this suggestion isn’t made out of jealousy, ill immediately state now categorically that I have no desire to be an officer or be anything more than be a member. I would just rather we didn’t have everyone who cocked up last time being offered their old positions back. Obviously if its a financial thing, different story.

True.

Another bone of contention I had to deal with when changing from a raiding guild to social was the problem of bank tabs / gold in the guild bank. It was seen as unjust that officers could repair using money from the guild bank where as ranks below could not.

The same issue with access to bank tabs - some were read only for raiding mats, enchants, high value items etc for when the guild was actively raiding. For a social guild - is this still required? Easiest way is to operate a request system where an item is requested from the guild bank to an officer - but again this makes lots more admin.

If it is to be a social guild - I'm guessing these things will need to be thought through.

I appointed some new officers.

Think it's Dead, Rulir (who always stayed so kudos) Tummy and Murray I think.

Happy enough with that as, as far as I am aware, no other officers have cone back and in any case the above were keen to get things going again.

Think Voltage is an officer too.

I agree with opening the bank up for repairs and general mats, but there should still be 1-2 slots 'read only' to protect the valuable/higher end items. Just incase.

In the end we let the officers continue to be able to use the guild bank for repairs as a perk or payment if you like for the admin they are required to do.

Agree with keeping some tabs read only and moving the valuables into there, then open the rest but with a 2 item withdrawal limit. Any more requires an officer to agree.

To keep the masses happy, each month we would roll a "lottery" of 1000g to a main char (not an alt) by using a website (can't remember which one) to pick a name from a virtual hat. But the guild at that point was large enough to recover the 1000g in a couple of weeks.

Just throwing ideas out there.
