didn't no where else to post this but what is the best thermal Compound to

use for the cpu as i'm currently using the thermal adhesive that come with

the cpu, also what is the best thermal compound remover.

The best thermal compound I have heard is IC Diamond 25c.

But is very expensive and probably only a few degree's difference from half decent stuff that is half the price.

Arctic Silver isnt one of the best atall, its not very good when compared in tests, just that everyone buys it and his has a cool name and assumes its the best when really its naff.
Their thermal remover/cleaner is good though, just not the actual compound, that's just average and as good as any generic compound you get with most heat sinks.

Artic Silver 5 is in the top 3.

IC Diamond is too thick and difficult to apply.

You have to warm IC Diamond up before you use it.... It is one of the best.
I could go and grab a load of test that prove you wrong and that I somehow don't know what I'm talking about but all you have to do is search the web look at a number of reputable comparisons and find its you who doesn't know what he's talking about.

The diamond stuff is the best, but horribly overpriced.

Arctic silver is the second in line but is conductive.

Mx4 is generally regarded as the best overall as it is good value for money, good temps and it is non conductive.

Like I said then, cheers.

MX-4 is what I would get now if I was buying

Np, but didn't you say ic diamond wasn't the best?

Its not the best, what about Chillfactor3?

I got IC Diamond here and the IC Perihelion (when it was being handed out free here ) along with Silver 5 and MX-2, I find the AS5 and MX-2 better and less of a rip off.

But AS5 is conductive so people dont like to use it.

found Arctic Cooling MX-4 Thermal Compound 4g (Not AS Silver) at £4.89 each is this good?

and the ic diamond 24 carat 4.8g (couldn't find 25c) for £11.99

ChillFactor 3 is my favourite having used a fair few thermal pastes in my time although the likes of Prolimatech PK-1 are up there. MX-3 > MX-4 and personally I don't rate AS5.

IC Diamond is pretty darn good. Too thick at room temperature though, so you have to drop the syringe in hot water for a few minutes and it's as spreadable as the rest.

According to the link your provided its actually in the top 8
That's even if you assume no error margin in the results. With a 1 degree margin it would be in the top 20

Why the "you dont know what your (sic) talking about" attitude?

I'

I think its just me.. a few members have acted like that towards me. Not a nice place if I'm honest.

All I have done is post in a few threads my opinion on things and I get told I don't know what I'm on about and basically talked to with no respect like I'm a complete idiot.

Some people just aren't nice and don't want to listen to other peoples valid opinions and some how find them offensive? Just an opinion based on information.. people need to chill and be friendly and learn they don't know everything or aren't always right, and stop taking someone else's single page on the internet they found on google as fact.
