Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Had some good games on this earlier yet I've still not got to grips with the aiming on the M98B sniper rifle. The rounds seem to go vastly straighter than the other bolt action variants which I'm finding really hard to account for in bullet droop lol. Its making long range shots a nightmare again! Feel like a right noob using it ha.

Got a few friends who have bought the game and after some noob friendly servers. I've played on all the servers listed on the first page and they are definitely not noob friendly as everyone has been playing for 100+ hours. I also tried the [SAS]It's for Noobs server and that seems to have a lot of veteran players looking for easy kills (yesterday was one team of nearly all 45+ vs the other of nearly all noobs - it was a bloodbath).
So, rather than them not last a week due to getting constantly killed, does anyone know any genuinely noob friendly servers?
The only other option I can think of is using a regular server (like Matt's) and asking the regular players to 'take them under their wing' until they get settled in with a few of the essential unlocks.
Cheers for any help...

You won't find a server without experienced players on this late into the game.

Its been out for over 3 months now, and anybody who bought it at launch will be well towards rank 45 or above by now.

Noob friendly servers don't necessarily mean that they won't have anybody above rank 20 on, it just means that they will show patience and understanding when it comes to players not knowing how to play the game, doing the wrong thing etc..

I've always wanted to be the Mr Miyagi of battlefield 3 Jeff. Bring these young padawans to us and we shall groom them into Kings of the battlefield. :p

I could do with much the same :)

I've got the OCUK server (Matt's) favourited so try and get on there first choice now. Seems like a good place to go for some fun at least! I keep trying to resist going engineer but the RPG fun you can have.... oh my.

I've applied to join the OCUK Platoon, hope that is OK. Origin is T3nzo.

Thanks

Gustav Halling was recently asked if the rather goofy MAV exploit has been patched yet. For those who don’t know, the MAV exploit, which has given rise to hilarious videos like this, allows players to ride on top of it to lift themselves to generally unreachable areas of any given map. Halling responded, “not yet, will be fixed in next [patch],” confirming that it will, indeed, be patched. Hopefully, this fix will be included in the long awaited February patch. No more free rides for you recon players, it seems.

So finally joined up with the OCUK platoon, and will start coming on the teamspeak servers ASAP :) Realise I'm still a bit of a noob in terms of rank but think I can hold my own with you guys on Matts server :D (me: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/Owen256/stats/355245357/ )

Am I allowed to put the tags in front of my name :p

I dont see a problem. It's basically so we can identify eachother in game ;)

Yeah anyone is welcome to put the tags in their name. Ideally though they will be an active member here first and not some random from Outer Mongolia. :p

I'll be glad when this is fixed, its a pain in the love spuds to control once a few of them get up there with a spawn beacon.

Ha well yes I think that is fair enough, don't want to lower our name with any of these 'randomers' now do we :D
