Ta Tim - I tend to avoid 41212 cos of the cost - actually enjoying 4321 with my cheap Brazilians; not tried 4222 in FUT12 yet...

EDIT: Was goona go with Gervinho, Toure and Bale as the 3 CMs for 4312; but noticed they just dont explore the flanks or overlap - wouldnt mind trying a completely new form; perhaps 5 at back as my RB/LBs tend to overlap anyway whatever I do :/...

Id still like 4132! :(

I used to LOVE my custom 4-1-3-2 in '11 :(

You could do a pretty good 5-2-2-1/5-2-1-2 for EPL, not sure on your budget, but a mid range could be:

TBH Ive just looked at the paper stats and not tried a lot of them; Kompany would have been an automatic selection if they hadnt decided to make him a bit slow - Im not a great defender so need it!

Is it bad having STs @ LW/RW other than much lower individual chemistry? Considering they are more likely to be shooting than the ST the way I play I thought that would be more important...

All advice appreciated :) Villa has been immense for me so far, total goal machine and can score from literally anywhere. Such a good buy and probably the best finisher I've used in the game.

agree with you on Villa

my team is the same formation but completely different, i use:

IF Valero (he is a CM converted to ST because i love his long shots and passing to set up Reyes and Villa)

Villa - Reyes

IF Alonso - IF Busquets - IF Garcia

IF Marcelo - IF Pepe - IF Ramos - IF Iraola

Lopez


basically im using CM's all with a minimum of 80 defense and who are great at getting the ball back but then also keeping the ball, Alonso and Busquets never seem to miss a pass. Busquets and Garcia are also pretty handy for headers, Garcia scores a few from corners. Alonso and Garcia are also amazing long shot takers, I have scored a few screamers with Alonso.

i have 8 IF players too which i get a lot of compliments on from people who play me, it's nice for them to see something different, apart from the same old midfield of Iniesta, Xavi and co.

the only person who i dont like in the team is IF Iraola, he runs forward far too much for me high attack/low defense, but he has amazing stats and 99 strength. Dani Alves could be an option but he also probably could have the same problem. i solve this issue by going defensive at the start of the match.

if you like Villa's shooting, you need to get Reyes for RW, he has an amazing finesse shot, it goes up high and curls a lot, you can tell as soon as it leaves his foot whether you put the right amount of power on it and no keeper ever saves them, he is also left footed so a much better option than Sanchez for cutting in, I would only ever use Sanchez for going out wide and crossing or power shots, but i doubt his power shot is anything compared to Villa's.

np mate, the first match was my new that night & now sold team, was trying to use Sonny's 4-3-2-1 idea with IF Busquets et al, but just wasn't for me :(

Up for some more tonight though?

it's very much a passing formation i find, rather than running with the ball, the only 2 players who run with the ball are the "wingers", usually after i have played a through ball or a 1-2.

i'm basically passing the ball every second, it's like watching barca play in real life.
 
I can see how it would work, and well! but sadly just wasn't for me, Villa & Reyes seemed to tire pretty quickly, too, the main thing I miss from that team is Villa's sublime free kicks :(

im thinking of dropping Ibra, keeping IF Paz but putting him LST and hen getting Pato back for RST.

i also want to build a Brazilian 4321 team but i would ideally want Lucio - Silva and Stek in it, so im going to go for a hybrid

SIF Nene - Hulk

SIF Ramires - IF Lucas - Carlos

Enrique - Toure - Luiz - Alves

or

Carlos - IF Lucas - SIF Ramires

i would then need IF Eliseu or another decent LB for my Liga BBVA team

the only problem is all the dent Brazilian LW options are all left footed, such a pain, i could also upgrade the team with IF Richards, IF Neymar, etc if i get more coins.

Villa is the only player i have used this year who has worked for me with free kicks, Di Natale, Carlos, Taiwo, Ibrahimovic, etc have all been poor.

i think Nasri was okay but lacked power, all of the above have had too much power and not enough accuracy for me.

with Villa i know it's a good chance of it being a goal, a bit like taking a penalty, with the others it was always in the opposing teams favour.

That is such a 'bleh' team. I really want EVERYONE to build a team like I have.
You truly discover how good a player you are and where your weaknesses are.

Ibra up top can make anyone look good...
