****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

lol, I've seen mine drop like a stone after a reboot more than once, but never shoot up again like that.

Quick update on mine, I'm down to 48% after 29 & 1/2 hours:)

CheckROM or CM9 if you're not fussed about video playback and video recording.

Samsung has a leaked build of ICS, which I've heard is quite good too.

Galaxy S2 worked for 2 weeks after the previous problem, now it's bricked, totally, won't even turn on (Lucky I didn't root it). Amazing phone I must say, this will be my 4th and last S2. If there's a problem with it then I'll look at getting something completely different. Fed up of this.

Phone #1 - Dead pixels on screen
Phone #2 - Dust behind the glass
Phone #3 - Bricked itself when I wasn't even using it

I never realised I was so unlucky.

oh you are.. or you're doing something wrong with your phone :DD

Hey guys, got this deal from O2 retentions today, wanted to see what you guys think:

Free Galaxy S II
24 Months
800 Minutes
500 O2-O2 Minutes (important for me)
1GB Data
Wifi
Unilimited Texts
Free Weekend Calls

£36 pm

Is it a good deal? :)

Not a great deal :/.

From being a Tier 5 customer at Orange and using a loyalty discount I managed to get the following last week:

- Free handset
- 18 month contract
- 400 minutes
- Unlimited texts
- 1.25GB internet
- Lots of magic numbers
- £26/m and can upgrade after 6 months.

I was 6 months away from my contract ending, so not even the best time to negotiate. You can get a better deal as a new customer.

I dunno, Amazon are gonna think I'm doing something dodgy soon with the amount of phones I've returned to them :o, it's a bit irritating now though considering I've had a month without a proper working phone, I never installed all my apps and stuff back after it crashed before, I just had a gut feeling that it'd break again. Glad to see I wasn't wrong.

Before this I've only ever had a problem with 1 piece of equipment I've bought online, maybe my lucky streak has caught up with me.

That's just seriously unluckly mate. I haven't even heard of anyone having dead pixels! Did you walk under a ladder? Black cat cross your path?

No idea, must have done something :p

4th S2 is here, charging now.

Hahahaha, if I told you this 1 was ****ed too, you honestly wouldn't believe me.
When viewing a dark screen there is a faint blue box in the middle of the screen, I wish I was making this **** up, honestly I do.

It looks as if something has been burnt-in to the screen, on a grey background you can see it says "SIM card removed" in light blue letters and there is 2 other boxes there too. I'm beyond caring now.

Wow is that a refurbishment or brand new?

I've seen screen burn in on mine but it usually disappears after a while so I can't even really call it screen burn in, The main culprit is the clock on beautiful widgets.

Sorry you've had some real bad luck :/

Brand new I guess.

That's permanent screen burn.

Whoever is sending you these phones, demand a new one from them until you get a perfect working one - it's your right.

It sounds like they have a dodgy batch then, or they're sending out ones that have been returned.

I don't think there are any major QC issues with the Galaxy S II.

Doesn't seem that way to me, defo something wrong here.

I don't know if I want to buy another Samsung phone after this.

Shouldn't you also be placing blame on the supplier?

So you won't be buying anything Samsung or from Amazon again :)

Why would I blame Amazon? It's not their fault products they're given don't work. It's down to Samsung, I've had no issues with getting refunds or returning items to Amazon, they're great as far as I'm concerned.

Also I don't want another iPhone, I hate iTunes, that being said I did have a 3g which was faultless for years, none of this hassle. I think I'll get another android, just something different. Razr maybe?
