Who's got Virgin Media's TiVo?

UK PAL (Cable, Sat and Terrestrial) is broadcast at 576i25 (SD) or 1080i25 (HD) so can't see why TiVo would offer 24fps output?

i cant see why either. there is the option hidden away in the display settings though. i personally let my onkyo convert to 1080p anyway as it does a better job than the tivo box. my tv doesnt really like 24hz on blu-ray anyway.

The only thing i hate about tivo is when looking through the tv guide, you can't go page up / down like you can with the V+, which makes looking for something to watch a pain in the back side.

Ha! I had my box for 2 months before I figured that one out. :D

Had tivo for 4 months , been a happy customer since , even with the latest update and auto padding Ive not had problems.

I find it a lot better than V+!

Have I changed a setting by mistake?

I'm sure that in TV On Demand episodes in a series used to be grouped in folders but now they seem to be shown separately.

Can I get the folders back?

had my 1TB Tivo for 2 weeks now after having Sky for nearly 20 years,

And no prob's, the Tivo is very clever bit of kit, sometimes a little to clever TBH.

But overall pleased with it, T the only thing we found annoying is that having to learn new channel numbers.

The ON Demand stuff and the Iplayer all work well.

Having a bit of think about this new so called TiVo service. Currently I am just using a standard Virgin HD box to watch tv on my 59" plasma. I'm quite happy with my current setup at the moment but for another £3 month I can upgrade to TiVo (with no installation costs).

Features aside, is the picture quality better using the TiVo compared to my standard HD box?

Before the update in Dec PQ was worse than my previous v+ hd box,but after the update i would say it was exactly the same if not slightly better than the HD box upstairs, only thing is i wish i ahd gone for the terrabyte instead of the 500gb because it is nearly full,my other half put three thumbs up to CSI and the box proceeded to record every episode of csi over all the channels, and there are a lot of episodes last i looked it was up to 65 epidodes lol..time to reverse the thumbs and start deleting to make space for my stuff.

It's not the thumbs that's making CSI record.

It would only appear in the recommendations folder if it was and wouldn't take anything off your available space.

Maybe she's set up a wishlist search for it. Also if you check your recording settings for the show you can set it so that the oldest episodes will be overwritten automatically if you try to record anything else.

Is anyone using their Tivo via optical or via HDMI to an av reciever for all their viewing sound?

With my Samsung V+ box i get intermittent sound drop outs / and surges in sound every now and then.
Its the second box to do it - its a common fault apparently.

I am wondering if this fault is continued into the Tivo boxes??

i have used HDMI for video and optical for surround sound (when available) since the first V+ box without issues.

initial brick V+, samsung v+ and tivo.

sounds like a dodgy cable. do you use optical for audio? since hdmi is only 2.0 for some stupid reason. not sure why cable boxes dont seem to understand what hdmi is capable of!

I use HDMI to my receiver for audio and it works fine.

But then I never had any problem with my old Samsung V+ box connected via optical either.

In the 2 years that the Samsung 3110 V+ has been out, as a technician I can safely say I have never seen that issue with that model of box. Only every seen it on the scientific atlanta
