There are a couple of things I dont like about HoN
1) The community really sucks full of Vet's that give you a lot of abuse
2) For some reason, must just be what I am doing but for some reason I can't deny kills, just wont let me kill them for some reason.
3) It just feels cluttered compared to LoL
4) No Bot modes where you can practice without getting abused or kicked for not being any good.
5) The main menu seems cluttered and not simple enough for newbies.
I am looking forward to Dota2 and hope that they make the game available for new players and not scare them off with the vets.

1) HoN Community stinks, Don't expect it to better in DoTa 2 either, Vets hate players who have no clue (As your noobiness can throw a game)
2) As stated you need to activate the attack key (hold A the click on the creeps)
3) I found it the other way around also. (you can change your ui using mods though)
4) No there are no bots HOWEVER their are public games. These are both no stats and PSR (separate to the newer MMR)
5) again same as 3
Going back to points 1 and 4. If you jump straight into rated games (pressing the big play now button) You will get **** on by other players. Public games is where you should be playing for now, and also you should be playing the no stats games. I would play public games until you feel comfortable with the majority of heroes and items, and then move onto the MMR ranked games via the Play now button.
Reason people are raging at you is due to you being new and not knowing the basics whilst playing in the competitive ranking system. Stay away from that until you feel more confident with your game ability.
Also with the "No Stats" games you can leave whenever you want and not receive the leavers penalty so if someone is being a dick you can just leave and join a new game.
You should also of played the tutorial game which explains a few of these points.
