What film did you watch last night?

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) - 9/10.

Never read the books but on the recommendation of my brother, took the girlfriend to see this (a massive fan of David Fincher anyway.) I enjoyed it tremendously and thought Rooney Mara's performance was down-right haunting. Very much looking forward to the sequels.

Although...the rape scene? Yeah. Definitely not going to even snigger at a joke about rape ever again.

Try and see the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo it's a much better film, plus Noomi Rapace is much better then Rooney Mara. It lacks the 'gloss' of a David Fincher film, but is superior in every other way.

I watched Four Lions again, maintain that it's one of the most intelligent and well written British comedy films for a very long time.

Watched The Iron Giant with my daughter. It's her new favourite and one of my all time favourite animated movies.

Most early 3D films have been far too dark for me. If I remove the glasses then the colours and brightness look fine. The ones I can remember are Transformers 3, Alice in Wonderland and Sucker Punch.

Could be the cinema reducing or not increasing the light output from the projector to increase bulb life - not uncommon.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Second time watching this, but this time i watched it in full HD and my god it looks and sounds astonishing.

8.5/10

Anyone else think that by making Caesar speak multiple times that it devalued the film somewhat....for me it would have been much better to have Caesar just say "No" at the very end, rather than him say it part way through the film and then say "caesar is home" at the end.

Troll Hunter - Got is from recommendations on here and was not disappointed! It is a Norwegian 'found footage' type based around the premise that trolls could actually exist. Stunning scenery too. 4/5

Gantz 2
Slower moving than Gantz but still enjoyable.

The Island
EWatched this way back so forgot most of it, glad I re-watched, quite enjoyable and Scarlett is just too damn fine.

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell

A guy tries to patch things up with his soon-to-be-married pal after botching things up at his bachelor party. Based on Tucker Max's best-seller "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell".
5/10
Typical American teen guy film. One sex crazed idiot running someone else's life then all friends again at the end
