Was not the best fight, but Condit played it smart and technical. Condit didn't need to get into the slugfest against Diaz hence why he circled away from the majority of Diaz's attempted offense.

I wouldn't count Condit out against GSP either although, I still think GSP will win.

problem immediately I see is GSP has plenty cardio and strong fast pace he will chase him down to wrestle him down and condit has ok take down defense but prefers to work of his back actively working on submissions, not gonna work with GSPs top control and his wrestling and more importantly hes now a black belt in bjj :)

Still as we seen stranger things have happen defiantly.

Excellent event.

Agreed with Koscheck and Condit decisions. First two to Diaz, rest to Carlos. Would have liked to see Diaz because his fight with GSP interests me more. However he couldn't handle Carlos, so it's likely that GSP would walk right through him.

wow some strong opinions by some mma names.

MMA names who clearly weren't watching the same fight as me. They can say Condit ran, but should walking straight forward getting hit win you points? Don't think so.

Condit landed more strikes, and the more powerful punches too. His gameplan was top notch, bottom line is Nick didn't know what to do, hence the trash talking.

I had it Condit 48-47.

As for the retirement.... he basically has the mental capacity of a 5 year old. He didn't get his way so spat his dummy out of the pram, like a child would. Not the first time we've seen him dick tuck, he did the same when he had the chance to fight GSP, plain and simple.

Diaz moans when he wins and moans when he loses.

Nothing changes.

Did he say they were paying him to much after the fight? I thought he was moaning before that he wasn't being paid enough ;/

I thought Condit came in with the perfect game plan and did not play into Nick's hands. Basically Nick just wants someone to stand in front of him so he can out box them and when he does not get his way he will throw the dummy out the pram.

Dana wanted Nick to win so bad that he's said he's open for a rematch if Carlos agree's. If I was Carlos I would say no as he's got nothing to prove, he landed more, better shots than Diaz.

I don't understand how anyone can complain about the result, Condit didn't run at all as a lot of people are saying, all he did was fight smart. Diaz loves to back guys up against the cage and let loose with flurries of punches, everytime Condit got near the cage he quickly circled away and re-took the centre of the octagon, that is not running.

I'm no MMA judge but I saw Condit executing a very intelligent gameplan and as far as I could see, he landed the better, cleaner shots throughout!

Yes, Diaz was the aggressor and was continually coming forward but I can't remember too many significant shots on Condit!

Like people have said, he'd have been stupid to just stand there and trade with Diaz!

Oh, and Diaz taking his bat and ball home was classic! My 10-month old is a little more mature!! :D

Condit clearly won. Great game plan, he avoided being hit and landed his strikes. Thats all there is to it? Diaz was clueless. Im glad he's gone (if it sticks), him and his trailertrash brother..

how did everyone score the fight round by round?

1st and 5th Diaz
2nd, 3rd and 4th Condit

In my eyes, Condit was a clear winner. Although I scored it 48-47 Condit clearly took 2,3 and 4, whereas 1 and 5 were very, very close.

It's a shame we don't get to see GSP absolutely stomp Diaz. It's funny, some people were actually jumping on the hype train saying Diaz would run through Condit then take GSP out. Oh, you mean based on his excellent record against wrestlers? Oh wait.

Main event was a massive, massive let down for me. All the talk going into it 'I'm a warrior, I'm going to break Nick Diaz' - and then it descends into 25 minutes of hit and run, pathetic. Condit gets the win, but more importantly Greg Jackson has broken another formerly exciting fighter with his crap.

You could argue he broke Diaz's spirit - just goes to show the right tactics can also win fights!

He's not going to stand and trade with Diaz. That's just stupid. Condit was there to win the fight, not put on a show.

I thought it was quite a dull event though. Just skipped through it really. Only thing that stands out are the knees that Nelson took.

Condit outplayed Diaz, simple as.

Some people forget that this is a sport, and it has rules, its not an all out bloodsport to the death. The fact that Condit used the rules of sport to his advantage to WIN is exactly the point. Just because Diaz and his camp are too retarded and/or arrogant to realise this is their problem, quit whining.

The outrage over the decision is ludicrous.

Diaz had 2nd and 5th. Condit 1st, 3rd, 4th. Done.

I still want a GSP Diaz fight, but maybe it'll have to be after GSP unifies the belt, as I for one don't believe Diaz is so stupid as to retire at 28 from the only thing he's ever known.
