Yes, I don't plan on buying any DLC. 'Extra features' is meaningless without knowing what they are.

Agreed, they are probably testing the water to see how players are reacting, but yes Battlefield 4 and to a lesser extent Bad Company 3 (should it happen) I would think very likely.

Either way, they would need to incorporate better cheat protection and take a tougher stance on offenders before they saw any of my money.

I think it was always going to happen at some point. Xbox live and DLC was just the start. Not that I am saying it will happen now, but I do see us having to select which games we can afford to keep playing online from the selection of games available. What about xbox users? they pay for the game, then they pay for live then have to pay this?
