New Samsung S23A700D 120Hz

Hi!
can anyone thats got this screen please tell me how far it can tilt back??
its not vesa mount right?
i need 4 (small!) 120hz screens, these might be perfect
i don't see any 20inch 120hz screens hehe

I just registered my serial and model number on the Samsung website and it accepted it ok. Have you registered yours?

not yet but i will register the replacement,i'm not going to deal with samsung anymore,i will deal directly with the brilliant retailer which i bought it from.

edit:
got a phone call from samsung's cs,they said it must have more than 4 defective pixels & adviced me to send it back to retailer. (poor service)

man i feel like crying :( my new samsung has arrived today from germany & it has a stuck green pixel !! i haven't even got refund for the first one yet !

samsung has agreed to pick it up & repair it (8 days for repair). why on earth didn't they offer me this repair service with the 1st monitor & save me the risk & hassle from sending it back to germany ? do they feel ashamed of their product's quality or is it because i was really upset when i called ?

i'll never ever buy anything samsung again.

Im looking to order one of these now but unsure where to order from. The .de site has them for £228.08 delivered, or another retailer has one I could go and pick up today for £270.

Am I right in thinking I would likely have to pay about 20% tax and duty if I ordered from .de? This would make them effectively the same price and I might as well go pick it up from the store as it would be easier re. dead pixels etc?

This is how mine got calculated;

It's just been delivered and first impressions are very very nice coming from a 32" 1080p tv.

Quick question though, do the glasses come with a battery, I can't seem to see one anywhere, and secondly how do I go about setting up 3d with an XFX 6950.

I got a battery with my glasses (coin battery) and just installed the tridef software from the CD. I have an nVidia card and didn't have to configure anything for 3D to work. Whether its different for ATI cards I don't know.

Im a bit confused by it all.

Do you need to change the settings on the monitor to 3d, and if so which is the best to use? Or do you just load it through tri def and let that adjust the monitor?

When I tried the second option it definitely went into some sort of 3d mode but it wasnt focussed when wearing the glasses.

I have tried a couple of games like tf2 and bf3 for a few mins just by setting the monitor to 3d mode but it was very underwhelming?

If you are running a native 3D source (that is, you have gone through TriDef or are running a game or movie with its own stereoscopic mode) then you don't need to touch anything on the monitor - just turn the glasses on when it says "viewing 3D image".

Ok I have managed to get a much more impressive 3d effect with the newest version of tridef, but its still not right I am getting double images, like 2 crosshairs next to each other.

In the settings for 3d display what should I have it set to? I am connected via the dvi cable that came with it and using a 6950. The monitor is not listed in the options?

when i start a game with tri def, i have to turn the glasses on and go through the options on the monitor itself until it goes 3d, also think its usually the side by side one that works

With AMD GPUs the TriDef will activate the monitor into Frame Sequential 3D mode. If you are playing Battlefield 3 you shouldn't use the TriDef drivers at all - it should activate into Frame Sequential 3D mode after changing the in-game settings. If it doesn't then force it to do so with the monitor's OSD. You also have to make sure to turn the glasses on - they turn themselves off when they aren't required but can't turn themselves on.

Just got a S23A700D for $279 AUD cheapest I could find them in Australia. I have to say the monitor looks and performs superbly, have had no issues with it so far, no backlight bleeding, no dead pixels, 120Hz worked with no issues and 3D works great with a NVIDIA GTX 560Ti. I will confirm the monitor does not have ECO motion sensor and light sensor technologies, in setup & reset menu it says ECO SAVING with options of 75% & 50% which 750D & 950D having the menu as just "ECO" which must have all three features when selected. Confirms my suspicions with the 700D as I noticed when I saw pictures of the 700D box it does not have the motion and light sensor features printed on the box like 750/950 product box even though I have seen Samsung websites having them on their overview pages. I could have got the 750D for an extra $20 AUD but my graphics card does not have display port meaning I would have to sell my current GPU and upgrade to a GTX 570 which im not willing to do for a number of reasons, one being not worth the hassle just to use those features and secondly NVIDIA Kepler GPU's are around the corner in April this year. I do however prefer the design of the 700D even though the 750D is slightly thinner. I have calibrated the monitor with PCM2s 750D review off pc monitors.org which was quite helpful in getting a much better image quality over default settings. Overall a great monitor that I mainly bought for 2d 120hz, LED + 1080P. I do miss 16:10 over 16:9 though from my first and only LCD ASUS VW222U 22" which I have had for almost 4.5 years now and still going strong.
