parking in housing estates!

Sorry but when house were built when nobody could afford a car and probably were not invented, why should people just expect to park outside their house now and block the pavements for people.

Its a nightmare around some streets near me, just people parking with enough room to walk passed let alone a pushchair or wheel chair.

Can't stand the ****s

Also it turns roads into one way streets due to the road being big enough for 2 is not just wide enough for one.

Where do you want them to park? Another street that doesnt inconvenience you?

If its a wide pavement I don't see it as too much of an issue.People on buggy's etc can still get past with no inconvenience at all. Its the arrogant idiots that block the whole pavement up with a car or van that annoy me, forcing pedestrians to walk on the road to get around them.

Just park further away.
Where I used to live, literally every street was the same. Parking further away could mean a 10+ minute walk and being parked outside someone elses house - which in the uk is a cardinal sin and can lead to hassle.

I nearly got hit by a car when pushing my 4 month son as I had to walk round a car that had all 4 wheels parked on the path, sorry if I don't value some poxy car as much as my son
Why not look before you go into road?

You could fit a bus through that gap between the car and wall. They can fit through there.

Now people with triplets might struggle, unless they have a triple decker pram! :p
Exactly. There is a big difference between parking considerably and parking badly and causing an obstruction.

.

Don't you think I did? Jesus I am pushing a baby do you think i would just walkout into a road? Have got children? The car came round the bend its a narrow road the car should have slowed as it passed but no it came full pelt and nearly clipped us. I give up.

it was on a bend you have to get on the road to see round the corner? it had all 4 wheels on the path ! the Driver should have slowed down tbh

Yeah, it's everybody else's fault.

You can't justify damaging other people's property because you perceive they have inconvenienced you.

If it came full pelt you'd have heard it :D

Yeah and dont be a **** about it when someone has a go, paths are for people not for cars. Or dont moan when you car is damaged all down the side.

Yeah so you took your child into the road with an oncoming car expecting them to stop and let you past?

How can you when all the cars on the pavement, cars a wide and quiet high and wasn't you taught not to cross in between parked cars ;)

Its hard to see passed a line of cars parked at the side of the road looking for a car travelling at 30 MPH.

I heard you could walk over a car if it was fully parked on a pavement, maybe just and old wives tale. Would be funny to do if you couldn't get passed.

So logic would suggest that you walk on the other side where you can see clearly and no cars are blocking the path?

Why should anyone cross so some little oink can park on the path, look we are not going to agree. You carry on parking were you like and perhaps one day when you have kids you might change your mind.

similar problem down my street. i'm end terraced and the neighbour 2 doors down park their 2nd car on the footpath next to me. not only does it make visibility poorer for me upon leaving my drive, it is also by a school so causes problems for people on foot (she's retired, car is there for most of the day) she also thinks that the space is hers and has essentially claimed it. if someone else parks there, she drives past a little miffed and parks in front of her own drive, then dashes out to reclaim the space when the other car leaves.

other cars do it up and down the street causing a western style stand off with moving cars at times.

btw, it's a footpath, not a pavement. if you ever have a problem with someone who has parked their car on a footpath, remind them of the name of what they have parked on. they're for humans and animals, not vehicles.

If everyone on my estate parked fully on the road, there would only be enough room for 1 car to drive down. Thanks to David Wilson homes only allocating 1 parking space per house when pretty much everyone here has 2 cars.

I know someone in a wheelchair who doesn't deliberately damage badly parked cars when trying to struggle past them, but is not overly bothered if he does damage them. If you park on a pavement, don't go whining if your car gets scratched...

This is my road.

Some people here need to get off their high horse and quoting laws when they have no idea what the OP's road is like.
 That is terrible parking

How people meant to push prams past them cars....
