PC Beat em ups

Boxer Revenge: Moscow Crime is probably the best beat'em up on the PC

When somebody says "PC beat-em-up" it certainly is the first thing that enters my mind :D

Lol Jay has stopped posting in this thread so I think he has seen the light.

I haven't stopped posting, just haven't seen an update pop up for a while.

I think people are just confused why you are deliberately handcapping yourself by not using a certain type of controller.

Deliberate handicap? Yeah because a pad is loads more accurate than a mouse

It's not a handicap, it's personal preference mate, accuracy using a mouse is x10 better than a pad

Have you tried playing Red Alert on a console, it's impossible!

I've preordered SSX for the PS3 and for a game like that I completely agree that a pad is better, I'd feel so out of control and un-immersed trying to play SSX with a keyboard

You are arguing the same point as every one else here

...no I'm not, I'm saying certain games are made for consoles and certain ones are made for the PC.

Using a pad on the PC or using a keyboard on a console just seems silly to me. You buy a game on a certain platform because thats what it plays best on.

Thing is this is true with consoles only certain games made should be played on it. But for PC's and the options we have, ie pad or mouse everygame is made to be played on it :) I said before we had pads etc on home computers for years. Earliest I can remember is having a pad/joystick for the Spectrum.

Sorry! totally disagree and if the consoles input devices were not artificially limited to joypads your head would be in a spin as your logic is flawed as FPS that are on console still use a joypad, so why did they bother making fps for consoles even though the input method is less suited, its because for some people that is their gaming platform of choice regardless of the input method.

All my Console games play better on the PC when given the choice and if all gaming was limited to just joypad on the PC it would still be better and still my gaming platform of choice.

All things being equal as regards to input devices the PC would still be the better platform because of everything else that it has with the exception of plug and play.

This!!

Even I have attached logitech dual action controller pad to my pc and play all games on PC now, making use of both K+M and controller pad.

Personal preference ends and directorship begins when you say it should not be on a platform because you don't think it shouldn't be, which is talking away choices to others with a different preference when there is no critical issues for it being so.
There are circumstances that a game should not be on a platform for more technical reason like it really does not have the power to do the game justices or the screen on small devices.

A friend of mine is PC and Joypad exclusive "Xpadder" with the exception of EVE-Online and the G27 for driving games, all FPS he uses a Joypad without exceptions.

So you think you cant enjoy fifa on the pc with a pad? or gta, etc etc etc, these games are far better looking on pc so why would a person with a pc not play them on a pc.

Go get yourself a 360 pad for your pc, works great for games that suit it.

because the community is much much MUCH better on the consoles and the same applies to beat em ups. No way would i play any of them on pc.

lol I started this tread to see if there was anyone else a little peeved that we don't get decent beat em ups on the PC (bar SF). Not for a PC vs console war

Obviously a lack of demand then :/
