The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Be good to post the solution in that thread to incase anyone else is having that issue.

IIRC one of the 295.xx drivers has a bad problem with memory leaking on video playback which could be the problem, the game does use ApeX (PhysX) simulations for the walking (lol) in stations/character creation aspects to.

Yeh hopefully Alphane will post it on the official forum, now I can finally get stuck in to the game! Not sure if I want to explore and use mining/market as like the idea of space exploration anf finding rare items and selling (if thats in the game) or go for straight up combat any suggestions for a beginner would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the suggestions but I've finally managed to fix it, found another thread on eve forums where people were experiencing the same problem. Its something to do with either the latest Nvidia driver 295.xx or the Physx driver a Dev posted so i reverted back to the latest WHQL driver after a cleanup of all the old Nvidia drivers.
and it seems to have worked, Success!

Hah, the one thing missing from your list of things. Glad it's sorted. :)

Guessing thy are kinda useless for 0.0

Not neccesarily I would have thought, if you can extract the components locally, then you end up with a higher value / lower bulk product to transport. In fact theoretically it would be better than high sec as you should need less extraction planets to feed your factories.

Was gonna come back but I just spent 1 hour on the character creator trying to make a character I like and I can't do it. Oh well :P Uninstalled, because that's important to me. OCD wins again!

you can re-customise whenever you want, its not set in stone anymore

If you could re-mould the face, as opposed to just cosmetics like hair and accessories as I understand it, I wouldn't be bothered so much by how my character looks at first.

Can you customize your facial "structure" at any time?

Darn it.

I'm very obsessed with getting the perfect character for my tastes, but I'm finding it really difficult to do so because of the sheer number of variables to alter. Seems really easy to make a good looking Female avatar, but I always play Male being a guy in real life xD

I'll have to give it ago again tomorrow, because I really want to play it (my friends started playing again, too). It always takes me hours to make a character, even in games with limited customisation options haha.

My character's not great looking lol, but it's true, you'll likely only ever see the back of their head.

Almost got Amarr Frigs 5 now!

Is it me or does the best amarr AS and Intie both use rockets? They both seem better than the alternatives.

Both amarr inties are viable for pvp in the AF class the retribution (lasers) is some what gimped as it only has 2 mids making holding targets and controlling range difficult.

Most laser ships you'll generally only use 2 mids for point and prop mod anyway - so it's not really an issue. 3rd mid is a cap booster on most ships, then maybe second point or web.

Retribution is pretty brutal now if used right, decent damage projection for a frigate.

Thanks Bobie and PF. I'm not liking the 2 mid slots though, prop, web and scram seems nice, I'll have to go with the retri for a while though since my missile skills are low and I'd rather concentrate on lasers.

I seem to get that urge to want to start playing this again, but think I'll just be disappointed if I do start again. Wouldn't really want to start a new character (current/old character was flying Megas fairly well for missions) but can't remember the state with my old character.

I knew I joined a corp/alliance that was starting to move operations in to low-sec and we started some pretty sizable fleet battles in our area (talking 50 or so ships a side which was quite pretty :D) but I stopped playing before everything escalated too far - which means I've probably got ships and resources all over the place with a whole lot of negative standing with other people!

The one thing I didn't like a huge amount was the large time you could spend solo'ing missions - even in high-sec I wasn't someone to trust a random person to run missions with me. Had a couple of mates that I would occasionally play with and do a few mission runs together, but it was usually me doing 80% of the work which wasn't too fun... Guess I just like grouping up with people - strength in numbers right?! Plus it gives you someone to talk to :)
