Hey up guys

Mick has just been fired from Wolves. I believe that this is the right decision for us as a club. The team has not played well for weeks and weeks, and yesterdays defeat just showed that his decisions on the formation was lacking!

As a hardened Wolves fan, I am glad that we have got rid of him, just who should be in charge next????

After the game yesterday we had a protest outside of the stadium in protest against Mick.

Mind you, we also need to change Moxey, as he seems to be keeping the purse strings very tightly closed. He decided to expand the stadium, before investing in players! Never a good choice, especially as we are looking likely to be back in the Championship next season.
 
I don't really see who Wolves will be able to get in that's any better than Mick McCarthy to be honest.
 
I think its for the best as I honestly expected Wolves to be a team pushing top 10 this season not scraping the bottom of the barrel.

No idea who you will get in though as there is no one out there who jumps to mind.
 
I think this is harsh.

I can't see a new manager providing anything other than a temporary lift. The problem really is the players and lack of investment in the squad. I think MM has been working miracles with the Wolves squad for years now. I always respected him for admitting when the team has been at fault (and even apologising to the fans for it like yesterday).

Also if you look at his career he's a very experienced player and manager. He's taken Wolves up from the championship and kept them there for two seasons so far which is pretty good going really (would have been a third consecutive season in the prem if he managed to keep them up this time round). The last time they moved up into the premiership they finished dead last (before MM took over), so he's done better than his predecessor at least.

Aye, we have Connor in place for now, which isn't a good move either. Worrying times ahead. All I know is I do not want Warnock as manager.
 
a new manager does not always give you the boost you need..QPR have not improved results massively

its harsh sometimes to blam the manager for everything...keeper yesterday had a mare and the defending was appalling..its like they just lose concentration..yet in other games they have defended heroically

McCarthy is refreshingly blunt...but he is limited as a manager...he is brilliant at getting teams up but he seems to hit a brick wall after that

he will get another job no problem..leeds need somebody like him or maybe Forest
 
Given the spending limitations, I'm not sure how anyone else is going to make any greater difference. This surely would have been best off doing in the cloase season and surely commits them to the Championship next season.
 
Bruce and Curbishley are pretty much the only managers who Wolves could get that have PL experience. Curbishley saved West Ham from relegation a few years a go if I remember rightly.
 
I agree with most of your comments, hence saying Moxey should go too.

This is the lowest point for Wolves since the Bhatti's in the 80s (they almost ruined the club though). With the individual players we should be doing a lot better than we have been doing of late.
 
:( Gutted to say the least, Mick is one of my favourite managers who really has kept a bit of a mess of a squad up in the prem through his own grit and determination.

Wolves to go down has to be a certainty now, Curbishley is the only manager I would consider putting in there to stand a change but if he took charge and went down chances are he'd loose the job which would be the biggest waste of time. Wolves need a fall guy (Bruce or Warnock) for the last 13 games and get someone decent in to sort out the champ, prune the squad a bit (well fire the back line and the training staff) and bounce straight back.

Hope Mick gets a decent job, back to ROI manager when the old Italian bloke gets bored?

You'd both have to see how Hughes does over time, QPR had a crap squad, still have some pretty crap players, and he's only just taken over. Wolves aren't really a "good" team, but they certainly have players who have been in the prem league longer, done better, and quite importantly are simply used to most of their opposition having played against them many times.

Sunderland have been in the league ages and had a seriously underperforming manager, their squad being MILES better than the league results. QPR had really a poor manager and poor team, but a manager who can't put together a better team so they got a new one. I can see them hanging on and improving significantly next year.

With Wolves, again I think its an underperforming manager, a better one may hang on, might not. They might not end up with a better manager and might still go down.

As with Arsenal though I don't care if we buy guys and they suck, that's life, some buys, some managers just won't work. Holding on to players you know aren't good enough, or sticking with a manager who is not working is just flat out wrong. I'd prefer to fail trying to improve, than fail when you already know the manager/team isn't good enough and you didn't even try to improve. Mick didn't seem like he had a hope in hell of keeping them up and couldn't build a good team long term, the next manager might get relegated, they are trying to improve and the next manager might be some young not rated manager who comes in and becomes the next Fergie.

Trying and failing is SO much better than sticking with something that isn't working.

No it isn't, before MM came along they spent all but one season outside the top division, and even in the season when they were up there, they finished dead last... 20th... (edit: in recent years anyway, I'm not talking about the 70s :p)

How can premier league status 3 years in a row be worse than second tier status?
 
Had to go I s'pose but it's a damn shame as Mick McCarthy is one of those Managers you really want to do well.

This I genuinely think this move is responsible for them being in the championship next season.
