Mick McCarthy - FIRED!

Not sure if this is a wise decision to be honest. Outside of a transfer window and having to work with largely the same set of players, i have doubts how much impact a new management team can make.

Do Wolves stay with an established UK manager (Curbishley, Warnock, Bruce), go European or poach an up and coming manager out of The Championship or below?

Watching the game yesterday I would have put money on Wolves taking three points after how they started the second half, but their team is relatively inexperienced and don't seem to have their own style. The other teams around them seem to have some sort of game plan and try to stick with it, however Wolves have always seemed a bit chaotic in their play, so a new manager would have to stamp his authority on the tactical side of things and then hope he can get them playing better football very very quickly.
 
Am genuinely amazed that anyone could seriously suggest Wolves as a possible top half of the table side.
 
He had to go, but have to say a big thanks to him to actually getting us into the Prem :)
Was much like the Turner situation in a way in the 80s/90s, got us as far as he could but didnt have what it took to take us that next step

Nailed on Steve Bruce for his successor imo. I like Mick McCarthy I must say but Wolves have been in shocking form this season even worst that last season so I guess the decision had to made.
 
It wouldn't surprise me if Curbishley got the job. Morgan's a big fan of his and was pushing for Curbishley to get the Liverpool job in 2004.

I just hope for Wolves fans sake that Morgan doesn't pay any attention to his mate Purslow, you could end up with Hodgson.
 
That would result in a massive outrage with Roy at the Helm.

Mind you, look at Bully he was WBA then we bought him to Wolves in the late 80's look at how that story went. Best England striker ever who never played in top flight football :)

Bit of an over statement as you are in the Premier League, you dont have a divine right to be there... yes you are a decent sized club, but many bigger clubs are on the outside looking in. So id say you are in a good position, much more so than just the pre-Bull years.... look at the Taylor era and how long it took you to get up etc

Now as a club you have the Premier League income, a rebuilt stand/stadium... a solid squad, parachute payments if you do go down (thats a big IF as well given how poor Wigan, Bolton and Blackburn are).

I appreciatey you are talking from a fans perspective and its easy to get lost in the hyperbole of it all, but looking at Wolves you have to be happy at 3 straight years in the top flight and even going down wouldnt be the worst thing to happen to you guys for a long time.

I wasn't being serious about Hodgson, he's not going to leave WBA for Wolves in their current situations. I was just referring to Christian Purslow's previous record.
 
Mick is one of the certain type of interchangeable manager we have at the minute, it really doesnt matter if you have Mick, or Bruce, or Warnock, or Mcleish, they will all play exactly the same football, with players all over the shop, who are only one result away from playing 8-1-1 in the next match.
They all suck and they all earn far too much money.

bit of strange one from the Wolves owners isn't it, echoing what others said, but who on earth can they get in at this stage of the season? Have to be hoping for the new manager - short term improvement in results to scrape them through.

Shame mind you, I liked Mick. Refreshing to see a Manager be as honest and as candid as he was.
