***OcUK Karting Meet - Saturday 10th March 2012***

Just give him his money back and someone else will pay the £20. It's took you up until now to say you are getting a free ride. You should have gave people the option of letting you kart for free or everyone gets a slight discount...

And threatening DRZ with his money just makes you look like a ****.
Why don't you organise the next karting meet, should there ever be one again?

I was offered a free space as the event organiser, for all the troubles I've gone through to organise an event for this many people. It wasn't offered as a discount towards the total bill.

Fair play you lot can be a miserable bunch of **** sometimes.
SO what if she's getting a freebie.
SO she damn well should having to organise you ungrateful gits.

No one moans on the RR days when the organiser gets a free run.
It's a wonder anyone ever bothers to organise anything on here when you act like children about it.

So why don't you be a generous soul and offer the karting for £74 quid or whatever it is. If you'd have been upfront about it from the beginning I'm sure that everyone would say they didn't mind paying £3 extra and letting you go for free. I know I would. But the fact that you kept it hidden means people won't respect you for it.

Why should she? She's the organiser. I got my free RR run when I organised it. It's the company's way of saying thanks for organising it and getting us some business. Why make a fuss out of something that is common?

Some people clearly have nothing better to do than moan.

If at the beginning you weren't happy with paying £77 then why pay it.
It's absolutely irrelevant whether £3, 4 or £5 went into MisChiefs back pocket or she simply burned it to keep warm.
You were offered a place at a price, you took it.
STFU and lets go Karting for god sake

Sorry, wish I hadn't asked if you'd paid now.
Ultimately, I think it's Tina's call as the event organiser here - we could be going round in circles here and never reach a decision.

£77 is the standard price. Any further discount is down to the venue or myself, and should be considered a 'bonus'. The fact that you are 'expecting' it just goes to show what an ungrateful person you are.

I'm ungrateful?

If I was organising I'd be paying for my karting session, giving everyone a discount and not threating to keep hold of deposits to spite people.

Wow, handbags.

I thought the idea of a deposit was to stop people taking the **** by commiting to a space and not bothering to show up. For an event like this, if DRZ never turned up on the day then screw him, he loses his money. But provided somebody else steps up to take his place - in advance - I see no reason why he shouldnt get his cash back because nobody has been harmed/affected by his change of heart and nobody is out of pocket as a result of it, surely?

Situation 1:

DRZ attends. DRZ pays £77.

Situation 2:

DRZ cannot attend. DRZ's place goes to Joe Blogs. Joe Blogs pays £77 and DRZ pays £0

Net result of both is the same, whats the big deal and why the huge fight?

The deposit is surely for..

Situation 3:

DRZ doesnt bother to attend. Organiser has to pay for his spot. Uses DRZ's money to do this. But this doesnt seem to apply..?

I was thinking, who the hell is this Fuzz guy, then I looked more closely at the signature. Ruddy name changes!

Fox put it very well though, his argument is exactly what I was thinking when I typed my post, the point is, nothing changes because there are plenty of people to run, so no-one loses out.
