****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I need some help guys.

I have a samsung galaxy s2 and I updated to 2.3.6 then rooted via the tutorials from here.

Most of the apps Ive seen on here and in the essential apps thread and some others (like stair dismount) I cannot install via the market as it says my phone is not compatible :confused:

I have downloaded the apk file for steam and stair dismount and they install and work fine but I am a bit worried about installing anything that isnt from the market.

Could it be a problem with the rom from that website? Everything else works fine.

IIRC some people had to shave a little off the foam blocks for it to fit.

Had a CR-115 holder for a little over a year as it was the official holder for my old E72.

I haven't yet a case for mine but can try it to gauge if it would fit with a case or not.
 
Hmm my SGS2 has started playing up again, 3 times out of 4 the phone will not turn off when you tell it and it will just reboot instead and when it is shutdown the phone will at some random time turn it's self back on. Back again it goes!

been looking for a suitable mount
guy on the you tube vid on this page has used a garmin nuvi 200 mount, and it looks good

I already tried that mount that mrk made a guide for but over the summer the heat of the car made the rubber suction cup come off the base. This CR115 i thought was supposed to fit with my case on. It just fits without the case. Will have a go and shaving it down or changing the foam/rubber bits.

Maybe there's dirt in the USB connector? Tried blowing it out or something?

The site you linked to appears to be for the I9100G which is a version of the phone for some foreign market. Rooted kernels tend to be either for the non-G version or the G version, never both.

Which kernel did you flash to root the phone?
 
I've just bought an SGS2 on O2.

It it worth me bothering with rooting and getting a stock rom? It was worth it on my horribly branded San Francisco, but this one doesn't seem to be branded. At least i've not noticed it if it is.
 
the nokia one will have nokia embossed on the front so is easily confirmed as genuine or not.

Gah, I was happy with the battery life before but hadn't messed with the phone for a while. So I thought I'd give this new RedPill kernel a try. Not good so far, battery life well down yesterday, trying today with voltage control also running and not looking too clever either... Worse thing is I can't remember which kernel I was running before, doh!
