Do you sort your Applications?

Hey all,

Do you guys just throw every app into the Applications folder as normal, or do you organise them so that you have a "Games" folder etc.?

No because it can break some apps if there not in the expected location, especially when it comes to applying software updates.

You can also just arrange them by type:

But I rarely venture into my apps folder anyway and just use a launcher instead:
Launchbar/Quicksilver/Alfred etc

I mostly just use the dock & spotlight. Much quicker just to cmd + space, type in application and enter.

Ultimately its this for me. Have to go in the Applications folder sometimes just to see what I have!

Brings up Spotlight. You can search for any file or app that you want to bring up.

I use Alfred using Ctrl + Z as the hot key.

How'd you do that then? Looks like it could be useful for a few things.

I've started to use launchpad

Not quite as quick as cmd+space but it's a pretty good feature.

It's a neat little addition to Lion that I haven't really used much...

Wish you could place it where the Applications folder is, as I would replace the Applications folder with it...

cmd+space for me too, hardly ever go into the applications folder so no point organising it.

All about application launchers like Alfred. The only time I ever hit the applications folder is to drag new apps in / delete old ones or manually scan for an application who's name I have lost to the annals of time.
