Alan Wake now appears to be heading to Steam!!

I got my Canadian homey to buy it for me seeing as GMG ran out of keys. In the end it worked out that I got Alan Wake and Wolfenstein for less than steam are wanting for AW in Europe.

Just to wait on my stone age connection downloading it now.

Running very nice on my system. 60fps gameplay and over 2000fps in the cutscenes!

This game reminds me of a one from a few years back called Fahrenheit

That is not the kind of blur you think, that slight blur is when the bad guys are around. Whole scene gets a slight blur when they turn up. When no bad guys are about it is crystal sharp.

No, I'm not taling about the in-game blur effects when there are enemies on-screen, I'm talking about the slight blur you get when you enable FXAA and I have yet to come across a game with FXAA enabled which gives a completely crisp image.

I've got this running on high settings 2560x1600 on a GTX 580 and it's staying above 30fps which is acceptable for this genre of game for me... liking it so far.

6950, Phenom II x4 965 @3.2 (stock) - 1900x1200. Max settings, no problems at all.

Great to play through again, never completed it on the 360, got about 3/4 of the way through so still some stuff I don't know about. Trying for all the flasks, know I won't get them all though :p

Yes it does, but that does not mean perfectly.

It means that nvidia won't release a 3D driver for it unless remedy sort out the shadow and lighting issues whilst using 3D. The text is also very hard to read with 3D enabled if you use subtitles.

Whichever download region I seem to try, I get grief. Steam is too busy, or when it does get going it gets suspended.

Anyone else not able to download anything tonight?

I would be surprised if Remedy didn't get around to sorting it.

What is your GPU? I've got a ATI 5000 series in my laptop with 1GB memory and I'm downloading from steam right now...

I suspect it will be fine on my GPU I can normally push most games to 1080 some at 1600 x 900 with the odd few having to go to 1280 x 720 only BF3 and Metro 2033 so far...

I'm on nvs 4200m with 512 RAM not a powerhouse but does the job on most games I play.

Is this actually any good? Reluctant to buy it after how they screwed us in the first place.

You haven't read any of this thread have you?
You just skipped to the last page & posted your question even though it's been answered about 20 times already in the same thread. It's not even a very big thread & simply reading the last 2 pages would have answered your question. I can't believe how lazy people are sometimes...
