Yeah, vital tip that the dentist doesn't tell you - do not screw with the blood clot! my tongue kept finding it and worrying at it. BAD TONGUE!
 
Indeed root canals are horrible, I miss my old dentist in newcastle, He was a chinese man, but my god he was awesome.

Here in Barnsley, They use a brick and a Piece of string to remove teeth.

Root Canals. Dremel and a squirty bottle.

My dentist went fishing for a missing shard of tooth, removing the blood from the socket in doing so. She later told me that was what probably caused it and in hindsight it wasn't a good idea.

I didn't know at the time but my parents came pretty close to suing for negligence.
 
Recently been told by my dentist that i may have to have all my teeth out!!! Got to see him in May and probably a visit to hospital to see a specialist first to see if he can save them. Bad gums i have been told!! Thanks for the thread!!!
 
I'm pretty sure after reading this, and having a couple of fillings 20 minutes ago, I will need to go under general anaesthetic if I need root work or a wisdom tooth out. Screw that under general anaesthetic. I HATE needles as it is.
 
I recently had two wisdom teeth out. (a fortnight ago) My dentist took one look at them and the x-ray and then referred me to a hospital to get them removed, (by a maxi-facial surgeon).

From the stories in this thread I am quite glad I was out under a general anaesthetic.

Odd, fresh piece of gauze and you bite for ten minutes, and there is a new clot.

Dry sockets sometimes just happen.
I'm sure it has happened, but I've never once heard of any sort of payout in relation to a dry socket.

On that subject whilst I was getting one of my back teeth out it felt to me as if she was pulling my jaggy/vampire fang like tooth at the front.
