Alan Wake now appears to be heading to Steam!!

If you want to unlock nightmare mode, add -developermenu to the target path of the shortcut. Saves having to do a whole playthrough.:)

Just finished the first 6 episodes in an 8 hour stint, and will play "The Signal" and "The Writer" later today. So far it's really good, but really confusing. Hopefully the next 2 episodes make the plot a little more clear xD

Badboy i find this game to run very well and very smoothly on 6970 crossfire, using 12.2 preview and the 15/02 12.3 caps.

just dwnloaded the new caps yesterday, double difference, now its stuck at 60fps vsync on maxed out at 1920x1200, with vsync off it up in the eighties

quick preview of my game performance on custom medium settings, 2xAA etc at 1080P

Q6600, GTX260

I'm getting around 35fps average, very playable. It's the type of game that you don't need 60fps (ie, not a source game)

I'm uploading 2x full screen 1080P videos, one on minimum settings, one on max. I get 18FPS on max when standing still, so very unplayable

I can remember drooling over this during '06 when I planned my '07 build, which is now creaking, never got to play it, although I will now 5 years on with my projected '12 build. Got to get my final year of Uni out the way first though.

Sweet.

Is it one of them games when higher settings over medium settings have minimal impact on visual quality? Because the game looks pretty good on medium!

I tried to run it at max @1440p on my 5850 and got 8fps lol. Dropped aa down to 2x and get a quite playable 35fps ave and at that res very few jaggies. I've noticed the cutscenes are a bit low res though as they aren't being rendered at my native res. Just as tense as when I first played on Xbox and I think I prefer m&kb to controller.

Gotta love the tense moments as you reload while you're being charged!

Just played till the gas station. This game is pretty damn good, and looks awesome. Max graphics playing at about 50-80 fps on my rig.

Runs at 35fps on my rig. Both 5850s are in use. On High I get 20fps, so turned off AA and SSAO and now get 45fps. Game looks very good on Medium settings and so far extremely atmospheric.
