****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I've been offered a 6 month old galaxy sII (tesco) for £220 (friend who doesn't really get on with the phone and looking to get something else), it looks like new! What's the opinion on this deal? I've got an ageing desire so looking to upgrade soon, my contract is up in April.

I currently pay £11 a month for 100mins, unlimited text and internet. Looking at the new contracts I'll be paying quite a bit more if I want to get the phone and similar internet/texts....
 
F.A.O people on CheckRom v6:

Does the KitchenPro app fail and force close?

Mine does it when downloading Theme Restore around 60%, 3 times now. Luckily on the xda thread Leo posted a link so downloading it via PC.
 
Strange, might just be that file then. Seems like there is a lot of things messing up with themes on the xda.

Just downloaded the Domination theme from the kitchen, worked fine. Think there is problems with the ThemeRestore file.

Perhaps corrupt?

The S2 camera keeps on impressing me the more I use it, just look at this pic today I took at work under office lighting, everything on auto:

It does, I like the S design as well, it also has the highest ppi density of any phone out but a shame it's not AMOLED which automatically takes it off my radar!

However, I'm now on Domination Theme. I downloaded the ThemeRestore on my PC, just flashed that and Domination.

Happy. Looks amazing. Some messing about is needed tonight.

Btw, that pic is brilliant. I need to use my S2 camera more.
 
Once you go OLED, you never go LCD!

I read today that Samsung have created a spinoff company for displays only, Samsung Display will focus only on monitors and I imagine it's the start of OLED based computer monitors that are affordable and mainstream.

Guess who had lit up eyes this morning :p

I assume you saw the SAMOLED TV they announced a few weeks ago? I bet that's quite something.

I like the blacks but I'm not too fussed other than that. The colours on the iPhone screen look similar enough so I don't really care! :p

I imagine the Xperia S would be similar.

That picture looks immense coming from a phone camera. But then you are a bit of a weirdo camera person :p

Sony Xperia screens have been a bit mediocre thus far - i'm talking x10 and Arc.

Even the screen on the Transformer prime can't tempt me away from a SAMOLED+ display.

I've seen that announcement for the Sammy display yeah, I imagine that's inline with all this :p

Ignoring the slight white balance difference, I think this is quite suitable to show details the phone sees:

There's no need for theme restore if you are coming from a complete wipe. Boot into checkrom & then install domination straight away from the kitchen.

Damn good pictures!
 
Is there much difference between Checkrom v6 and Frankenstein XWLA4?

Ive seen a few happy people using v6 and not sure whether to upgrade.

Can someone please help me with transfering music on to my phone's external 32gb SD, it won't play ball at the moment :mad:

I put the phone in to USB Mass Storage mode and then go about transferring folders via copy and paste, the files are coppied over but when I disconnect they are no longer there. Any reason for this??
