What injuries have you had?

Injuries ive had:

Broke up my arm when i was about 6 yrs old, going down a massive hill and getting my arm caught in the wheel...god knows how i managed to do that.

Smashed my left knee to pieces playing ice hockey when growing up in Canada, had reconstructive surgery which involved pins and plates being put in to rebuild my knee...put my ice hockey playing days to the dogs :(...still plays up now and again especially in the cold weather...damn this damp cold:(

Sprained my left ankle quite badly a few times when again playing Basketball in Canada...obv its now very weak even though i had months of physiotherapy to try and get it back to normal.

a lot of my injuries seemed to happen when i was growing up in Canada, probably due to the fact that i was much more athletic minded then than i am here.

Both arms broken, right one twice (Motorcycle accidents)
Both legs broken, right one twice (Motorcycle accidents)
Hips fractured (Motorcycle accidents)
6 ribs broken (Motorcycle accidents)
8 fingers broken at the same time (Motorcycle accidents)
Pepper marks on my back due to being shot at medium range with a shotgun (12 gauge firing 9s)
Large scar on back of left hand due to me sawing through it with a tenon saw when I was 8
Large scar on right wrist due to an accident with a broken bottle when I was 5 or 6

I'm nearly 38 and haven't had any injuries to talk of. Certainly nothing serious. Nothing even slightly serious. Actually, come to think of it, barely anything minor  No broken bones, no stitches, no time in hospital for any reason at all. The worst I can think of is a few scrapes falling off my BMX when I was a kid.....and pulling my hamstring playing footy. Seriously, that's it.

And yes, I do actually leave the house :D

EDIT: Watch me go and crash into a bus on the way home...

Impressive! So did they remove all that metal after the bones healed up?

all there with the exception of some of the meral in my elbow.

Neat trick to find out is run a wire detector along my arm and see if it beeps! lol

Thigh bone/femur has been replaced by a nail as such and the bone will grow around it.

:D

No lasting injuries anyway.

Back in the day I got in a fight some little bugger who lived over the street from me. He started running away so I decided he given up and started walking back home (was only a few hundred yards away) only for the little runt to attack me while I had my back turned. He threw a large stone into the back of my head as hard as he could possibly throw it. After that I don't remember much unsuprisingly, but apparently my mum was starting to get worried due to the amount of blood that ended up down the bathroom sink.

Also fell off my bike on two different occasions, both times I managed to have a leg under the bike while it slid along the tarmac road. So I grazed both legs quite badly from those two incidents.

Other than that I don't think I've done anything.

Modern metal detectors don't detect them anymore, i have a letter in my passport for mine though as it contains a magnet. But that is coming out this year.

Stay off the motor bikes kids!

My worst accident was on a mountain bike, these bikes eh?

I broke my right arm, right collar bone, a few ribs, shattered my sternum and popped both lungs at the same time, oh and a nasty graze on my knee.

I managed to land (17 stone) on my chest on my saddle. I was badly winded and took quite a while (adrenaline I suppose) to realise that something worse than the knee graze had happened. Being mountain biking this was in the middle of nowhere and took a long time to get signal and ambulance. Anyway, a night on a respirator and two days of intensive care sorted me out.

I think a lot of it is just that growing up in Canada is all about sports and activities. You're always out doing something.

I've broken 2 toes, a finger, a collarbone, both of my hands (at different times) and I also crushed one of my hands in a conveyor belt.

Same here, 28 & the worst I've done is stubbed my toe really really hard.

Never had another worse than a cold & headache either illness wise - can't complain.

I used to climb trees, ride bikes, go out 24/7 & still get drunk pretty often when out with friends.

I'm either,

A = Really lucky.

Or

B = Bruce Willis from "Unbreakable"

Ruptured my anterior cruciate ligament playing football. Was in the cup final as well. Studs stuck in ground, top half of leg rotated, bottom half stayed straight, pop!

Had surgery to replace it with some muscle pinched from my hamstring. Pretty much fine now although it aches a bit when cold and i can't really kneel down for very long.

Nearly had my knee snapped at BJJ by a knee bar, it all of a sudden came on.
Done my shoulder in power lifting and continued to fight and done bad damage and it's still damaged 18 months on. MRI etc can't see an issue.

Nope, never had an issue when I flew - titanium not stainless steel though so not sure if that makes a difference?

The domestic ones are different as they detect any metals as I guess they don't specify. Maybe I have steel screws in though? Not sure tbh. Need to check my 1000 pages if notes lol
