Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Just discovered the "input" bit of Training, and sorted now :). Wasn't quite going back up to the horizontal so it wasn't registering. Got most of his moves sorted now except for the two quarter circles in a row, keep on screwing those up. Anyone who wants to use me as a punchbag feel free to add me on PSN!

Very impressive! Been on the receiving end of some of that when playing you :o so nothing really surprised me apart from 3 perfects in one match!?! That's a rare one for sure.

Play you all soon in SFxT which I have preordered. I've had a look at some of the videos linked in the other thread and it looks complicated as hell to me, it probably is coming from SF4 lol so I expect many hints, advice, tips from the experts... ;)

^ Good fight.

Dualshock controllers are pretty good for quarter circles / half circles - you probably just need practice.

Sticks aren't that expensive anymore either, the WWE brawlstick can be had for £20-25 online which is a damn good price.

Sorry to keep bumping this but does anyone know of anywhere you can buy a 360 version at a reasonable price?

I've been playing this on and off when I have a spare 2 minutes and I can't help but 'ride the gate' (asusming this means pushing the joy stick as far as it can go) with the brawlstick, as there doesn't seem to be much of a distance between 'the dead zone' and full tilt. Do I need a better stick (sanwa mod) or do I just need to suck less? Bare in mind I do suck a huge amount.

Just do whatever works for you. If riding the gate gets the inputs you want, when you want, and you don't have any problems, keep doing it.

You will learn not to do it as you improve. Most people do it when they start but it's very inefficient and creates an over reliance on the DERP df df dragon punch short cuts.

I also started off riding the gate when I first started using a stick but I've been using the square gate more recently (octo previously) and realise for a lot of moves, I don't even touch the sides of the gate anymore. Listen to Art, do whatever you find easier as long as you are getting the correct moves out, on command, all of the time.

ggs Rash, I almost punched the TV when Guy's air grab beat that psycho crusher I had no idea it could do that.

Edit - By the way I apologize for that guy at the start, he's a guy I played on ranked ages ago and he added me. He wanted some games and you did aswell so I thought I'd kill 2 birds with 1 stone, had no idea he was going to start trolling like that.

ggs again Rash, I feel like I'm slowly starting to get better. I remember when we played a while back it was really hard to look at I felt pretty helpless but I feel a lot more comfortable now. I really need to learn the Abel matchup, I just have no idea what to do against him. I can't zone on you because of the roll and I just feel anytime I get close I'm going to get grabbed, Blanka is another headache for me. Guy and Dhalsim I don't mind though I know those matchups fairly well.

Hope for some more games soon, you're just going to have to keep beating me up with Abel until I get a few clues through my thick skull about him.

Rashs Abel isn't orthodox at all, I've beaten other Abels who have 3000PP+ and good combos with ease yet I struggle hard against Rashs, and it's not only me, ask anyone on here!

I am also very wary about throwing fireballs at him since he rolls and grabs very quick, so I normally fireball from full screen only. You have to try anticipate the roll then you can punish it, and always block standing incase he does his favourite move the wheel kick, even better if you can react quick enough and dp it.

I actually don't really get caught by his wheel kick all that much, it's the roll and grab that give me fits. I think maybe with Rash's Abel specifically your footsies and spacing have to be pretty good and mine aren't quite there yet, I'll figure it out soon enough I hope.

wow the tekken characters can combo multiple ex moves into normal moves and back into ex, i think i can get some crazy marvel style combo going from the looks of this.

EDIT: ooops wrong thread
