If it's significantly better at folding than my mediocre 2600k I'll have one. It'll drop into the same socket so it's an easy upgrade without dismantling the whole PC.

Depending on how it goes down when its released and the performance increase over the i5 2500k, I may consider it...Will come down to cost as well and how much I can get for a 2500k, which I would suspect wouldn't be much!

No, 2600K is ticking along nicely at 4.8ghz and headroom to go higher once its under water.

Hopeful my chip will last at least until the 1155 replacement socket comes out. Then its time for a system over-haul.

I've only had my 2500k for a few months so I won't be upgrading. Performance increase isn't worth it.

im looking for an upgrade on my processor (amd athlon) so anything over that will be an improvement, i think ill wait for ivy and hopefully even if i dont choose that, other processors may go down?
