GAME - Gamestation, about to fold?

No true Scotsman. I'm a serious gamer and I've not heard of it.

It's a binary.

If you're a serious gamer, you've heard of The Last Story

If you're not a serious gamer, you haven't heard of The Last Story.

It's a game which is Directed by Hironobu Sakaguchi and has music written by Nobuo Uematsu. It's a big deal considering those people worked on the best of the Final Fantasy series. The game is even an allusion to Final Fantasy in its title.

So again

If you're a serious gamer, you've heard of The Last Story

If you're not a serious gamer, you haven't heard of The Last Story.

I'm sorry, but there's no grey area here.

If you're not a serious gamer, you have a Wii

(i don't even own a Wii - lol!)

Never heard of the Wii game either, then again I only pay attention to serious consoles, and maybe cause I think final fantasy is a load of rubbish too :D

So if it's THAT good, why as this thread has demonstrated, have so many of us not heard of it before?

Why aren't they advertising it?

Why did they limit themselves to just the Wii?

Why when it's been released today is it not on the main page for the majority of UK games retailers that I've just looked at?

Why is it that Game decided not to bother stocking it? (This is a rhetorical question, I've already answered this myself in the thread).

I don't mean to cause an offence by this, but it's a JRPG, in the West this is more niche compared to other genres of games. Final Fantasy may be a house hold name, but how many other JRPGs are in this country?

It's just like how many Western titles are not that popular in Japan.

I never said it's good.

I'm just saying that you're not a serious gamer if you haven't heard of it.

Which means there aren't many serious gamers on this forum - sad but true.

IGN posted about this game 2 years ago - and IGN is about as mainstream as it gets

I've been playing games since the Atari 2600, in your eyes I'm clearly just a casual gamer then, what do I know.

I will now fall on my sword before you.

and yet you haven't heard of The Last Story - which as I've said several times now, means you're not a serious gamer.
What you just said is rubbish. Why do you have to have heard of the last story on a casual gamers system to be classed as a serious gamer? What an arbitrary and pointless way to determine if someone is a serious gamers or not.

Most serious gamers do not even follow the Wii or look at wii games. Playing an action RPG on a casual gamers system does not make you a serious gamer. Any serious gamer plays action RPG’s on a PC with a mouse and keyboard over a Wii remote.

damn bro, you mad.

Also, my definition of a serious gamer is "someone who actually knows what they're talking about" and not "plays Call of Duty on their hardcore xbox360"

Not mad, just confused by your strange logic. You seem to be saying to be a serious gamer you have to know about an unpopular casual game on a casual game system most serious gamers refuse to even use.

Why not say something like unless you know about and played Elite 3 you are not a serious gamer. Makes about as much sence as The Last Story.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

To be serious, you need to know about everything going on in the current world of gaming. Not just 360 or PC or whatever. Especially when it's a game made by the original creators of Final Fantasy.

[edit] Maybe I'm just too serious a gamer.

If you were a hardcore RPG gamer, then I'd imagine you would have heard of The Last Story.

If you were a hardcore FPS'er then I wouldn't expect you to know about an JRPG game coming out on the Wii.

People can be 'hardcore' without knowing everything about every game from every genre.

I play a LOT of games, but there's genres I NEVER look at (e.g. sports games).

i agree, a serious gamer would know all games on all systems, but sadly there is too many now who think they are gamers just because they have a iphone or something and aged 16/24yrs old
