What film did you watch last night?

Bridesmaids - was better than I expected! Funny/sad story about a girl whose best friend is getting married and moving on as her life is getting worse. Some very funny bits and lots of unexpected actors in it (Matt Lucas and Chris O'Dowd). 4/5

Anyone else see this and think that the bride's sister-in-law Megan (Mellissa McCarthy) when first introduced looked like Ricky Gervais in drag?

Woman In Black

5/10

Took the lass to see it as she wanted to, she jumped loads, I thought it was one of the most mundane films I've seen in a long time. Not horribly bad, but just... meh, nothing to it, gets a 5 for passing 90 minutes fairly quickly and not having any outright flaw, apart from Daniel Radcliffe trying to pull together some kind of character...

Just a note, I think Radcliffe is too small a person to lead a film, he hasn't the acting presence to make up for his stature. Joseph Gordon Levitt is of a similar height but has bundles of talent so you don't notice it.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - Its flows more like a book than a film. Making it very hard to follow. I was hoping for more of a Day of the Jackal sort of film as the trailer would let you believe. 6/10

The man from earth - www.imdb.com/title/tt0756683/

A low budget film about a man who claims he is 14000 years old. His ex-colleagues don't believe him and set about trying to prove he is lying.

Was quite good, makes you think. 6/10

I would have marked it up if it were not for a few points.
1. The acting in certain parts is pretty terrible.
2. The guy claims to be Jesus. It kind of makes sense in the context of the film but I still thought it was a little over the top.
3. It turns out the guy is not lying and is 14000 years old. It would have been much better if it was left up to the viewer to decide whether he was lying or not.

I saw this...was pretty decent.
It's basically about a guy talking to some people, in a room.
If you want action, there is none...its basically just talking. Almost like a play.

The Lincoln Lawyer - 7/10 - Wasn't bad, if you like law movies. So interesting twists and made for an ok ending. Worth a watch!

Adam Curtis's "Century of the Self"- loved it, Curtis was Oxford tutor for Politics and studied things like genetics, statistics, anthropology. This film just works like an Oxford essay, but very eye opening!

Watched district 9,Serenity and Sleeping Beauty yesterday

District 9 have watched once before and good simple film with great story. 9/10
Serenity watched about 4 times and always great to watch 10/10
Sleeping beauty as its all over lovefilm so thought I give it a go. 7/10

Yeah, largely agree. It's lots of Radcliffe going up some stairs, across a corridor, hears a noise, goes back downstairs, goes into the garden, hears another noise, goes back inside, goes upstairs again, across the corridor again, hears a noise, goes back downstairs......need I go on?

Walking Tall

Took a bit to get into but really liked it. Kinda like a more grown up version of The Dukes of Hazard, which I also liked. Probably helps that they both star Knoxville.
