New Syndicate to be an FPS

PC version of Syndicate - narrow FoV, huge gun models, default keys require you to be an octopus. Another failure of a port, avoid until fix

Surely some of these 'flaws' are easily negotiated?

Default keys = Map your own, I do for most games to suit my own playing style
Narrow FoV = You would think this can be adjusted with a little cfg adjusting?

I can't speak for the port side of things, I'd hope at least some effort has gone into the PC version.

Going to pick this up later, found a key for £21, the co-op should tide me over until borderlands 2.

Lol from another forum

I've heard the story is short and unremarkable but the co-op is excellent. The exact opposite of what I was hoping for.

I'm looking to the future of Machinegames for my excellent single player fps with a great story and voice acting now. Zenimax/Bethesda will be publishing them.

''Bought'' it 2day. If I ever see another shooter where i have to press X on my xbox controller to break something and cant find the corresponding button on my keyboard within 10 seconds its a straight uninstall.

At least in Alan wake when i move with my controller it shows what to press and when i switch over to mouse/keyboard it shows..wait for it...the proper keyboard button...

How hard is this.

Yup, a terrible port to PC as usual

- gun takes entire screen up
- controls/aiming are terrible, in fact the worst ever! With a mouse it feels like I am using a crap controller, so will just have to turn the "aim assist" on I guess
- hardly any options for graphics, only model shadows, AA, res, vysnc and a few other small things
- can't map keys the way I want. I want to use the side thumb button as melee, but nope game doesn't recognise it
- in general just looks very consolish.......

It's quite sad, given how good their past releases were. Here's hoping there is news on the new game from Machinegames soon.

Established in 2009 by the founding members of Starbreeze Studios, the creative team behind the award-winning title, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's Bay (Metacritic score: 90) and the highly-regarded game, The Darkness, MachineGames is working on an unannounced project for ZeniMax publishing subsidiary, Bethesda Softworks, that is being built on id Software's revolutionary id Tech® 5 engine technology.

Apart from all the issues that I mentioned and the ridiculous FOV/size of the gun along with the over the top brightness the single player is quite fun.

One thing that I really like is the design of the world around you i.e. the buildings etc.

Suppose in some ways, you could say that the game is kind of similar to crysis 2 regarding all the wee upgrades you have and gameplay, but still no where as good overall though.

Pity, was looking forward to trying this out. Didn't expect anything else other than a generic FPS despite the name attached to the game but it does sound rather mediocre at best from what you lot are saying.

Oh well, guess I'll add this to the 'Only buy in the Steam Sales for £3' list.

Oh wait, its not on Steam, Origin only atm, probably wont ever surface on Steam then like Crysis 2!

Scrap that, dont think I'll bother at all.

The game is your average on rails shooter, fun for a quick blast but don't expect much more. As mentioned previously, the game suffers from ridiculously bright bloom effects and a low FOV which is disconcerting. I couldn't play for more than an hour at a time.

Wait for the sale or give it a miss.

unfortunatly, I didn't check my pre-order sales list and this pile of poo turned up :(

Poor graphics and rubbish games play. They have completely changed the nature of the game and turned it into a cheap Deus Ex knock-off at best.
