How do glasses get scratched this easily? I have only had them a day and I have been extra careful with them. The only thing I can think is I've scratched them pulling them out and putting them in the case.

Does anyone elses glasses get scratched this easily? It's strange because it's only one of the lenses and they are really long thin scrtaches that go across and down the lense...

Cheers

Are you sure they're scratched not cracked? It's possible there was a flaw in the glass during manufacturing. Might be worth taking them back where you bought them and see what they say.

Edit: I've been wearing glasses for over twenty years and have never had a scratch as you describe.

I'm sure they're scratched, a crack would look very different I think. What sucks is they were expensive and I just can't figure out how it's happened after only a day. The case I got with them is pathetic though, it's spring loaded and the glasses are tight to get in so no doubt I've caught them as they've gone in or out of the case.

Scratch-proof coatings for the win.

I'd expect to have glasses 3-4 years before they pick up even minor scratches.

do you have the anti scratch coatings?

mine don;lt have scratches and i regularly abuse the hell out of them including sticking them in my pockets which are full of swarf without a case :p

i wish my prescription stayed the same for 3-4 years  after about 1-1.5 they're already starting to get blurry.

I'm not sure if I got the anti scratch coating, I called specsavers and they said it'll cost £19 for a new lense. Not to bad. I'm sure it is something I've done because the scratch extends to the rim of the glasses at the bottom, their is a tiny nick.

Cheers

Never managed to scratch mine in the 5 years I've had them, you scrape them along the floor? ;)

I called Specsavers again and my lenses come with anti-scratch coating as standard. Just must be something I've done to them...

Oh well time to fork out another £20 to get a new one. -_-

You're doing it wrong. I've worn glasses for 20 years. Only once have I replaced a pair due to scratches, and that was after years of wear and tear

Took specsavers three attempts to make my last pair of glasses without scratching the lenses when they made them. First time I didn't notice till I got home.

You sure they weren't damaged when you collected them? If there is a nick or scratch and they have the ultra clear / scratch resistant coating they probably did it in the lab. Takes a lot to get through that, mine have taken a dive onto tarmac more than once and not had damage.
