I pay £38.90 a month with Virgin 50mb

You'll have a "great" experience trying to pull that off if they put you through to the indian Op's. Mind you, they always credit your account if you ask. :D

Last time I spoke to Virgin it was a UK call centre, make of that what you will but honestly there is zero harm in pushing for a decent discount. Especially if you've been with them for a while.

Virgin Customer support are actually not bad. Iv been slightly unlucking in my working career and been made redundent quite a few times over the years. Virgin ever single time have always helped me out. Ranging from downgrading my package to a more managable one or giving me a month free service to help out.

End of the day they want to retain there customers not loose them to the competition. You can alter your packages online but i always recommend speaking to someone.

I know what you mean, Don't ask don't get. :P
I've found that if you want to get something done, just go for it.

Which number is the best to call them on? I remember I had trouble trying to get through to someone and was waiting a while on hold.

just an FYI, 50 mb wont be upgraded to 120.

i think -
existing 50mb customers will go to 100 and stay at its current price
exisintg 100mb customers will go to 120mb and price will be dropped to the current 50mb level

i have 100mb, basic tv, basic phone, £55 pm

I have 30mb, XL Phone ( so free 01, 02 calls etc) and basic TV.......£40pm

Soon to be upgraded to 60mb.

So £38.90 just for 50mb broadband, (soon to be 100mb) seems high unless you need the 100mb.

But remember I get throttled on 30mb during peak.........not sure 50mb does, maybe important to you.

That was the original plan, Virgin later released a statement clarifying that all 50Mb customers would get initial upgrades to 100Mb and then 120Mb later.

You should be able to get a better deal than that if you go through retentions. Its option 5, option 2 from a landline, I assume it would be the same using a mobile. Only thing is they won't be able to do anything today as apparently their system is down and won't be back up till midday tomorrow. Tried 3 times today to get a better deal due to an incoming price increase.
